RE: Asset sale21 Jul 2022 14:17
MT will be gone to the buyer as a very minimum i would say. I know we've done this a few times now, but, the mine there needs to start being constructed next season to meet any of NN's upgrade plans at Monchegorsk. You have to assume that both will be planned to arrive at a production ready and complete stage at the same time, plant done and the relevant goodies being extracted and processed out of the ground ready to be fed in to NN's new fancy greener facility and transported on their now fancy rail logistics infrastructure.
I can't really see any other logical way that such a huge complex begins to be taken to production over there. The Chinese in the situation arrive via the likes of Sinosteel, who, most probably, will also help secure off take agreements for the finalised NN wares. Possibly may even come in as part of a consortium with NN to buy assets from Eurasia as and when they have been JORC's and are ready to head in to production and increase wares to meet the relevant forecast increase in demand.
Rosgeo JV, the decision on what assets to take on ends in March next year, again, it's another thing point to this year as they'll have to have it done prior to the hard winter setting in over there imho. 24 months given in March 2021, they have rapidly disappeared as we have waited on the M&A news if i'm honest, we're almost at August now and so are 2 thirds the way through that given 24 month window!
