Putin has stated the increase in NATO exercises regularly around its border, it just doesn't get plastered all over media. Belarus is just the above, but, instead of NATO and Ukraine exercising it's Russia and Belarus.

Both sides potentially do have their own legitimate security concerns due to borders being involved etc. No full scale invasion force is present on either side, therefore, the only logical route is what the UN suggest imho -

Anyone can look at the current figures being circulated and figure out whether an 'imminent invasion' force is currently present. I would suggest a far higher Russian figure for such a move, given you state 22 years military service, what size invasion force would you use? -

The Chinese state will have played fair and simply outbid all in the FSP process, they tend to bid way over the top in order to secure the resources required for their country. They've been doing that for years now, Russian resources are no different to any other resources in the World when it comes to securing supply lines.

Possible NN and Chinese state JV for Monchegorsk moving forward, all parties happy and plenty of boots on the ground to get it all into production.

Norilsk to work with the Chinese buyer to ensure things run smoothly at Monchegorsk, it could well be the case due to the harsh environment and Norilsk already knowing what is required.

There is but only one objective at this stage, protect the planet and all life as much as anyone can imho. Anything else is just a waste of ones time. All children have hopes and dreams, that includes animals, war only robs them of those hopes and dreams.

It's almost like both sides have arrived with the other in a checkmate situation Bumble1968. My gut says long cold war with no fighting, long diplomacy to ensure both sides are comfortable with their respective security concerns.

In the end it should work out beneficial for all imho.

The World needs to learn how to work together as a collective, with the climate crisis, the days of divide and conquer are long over. There is but one common realistic enemy to all at this point in time, either they can lead properly, or, we're all potentially doomed.

The World would simply reset and start again once we're gone if they lead wrong, they need to understand that. Dinosaurs disappeared a long time ago now!

Perhaps Ukraine provides a long cold war where no fighting takes place, allowing enough time for civilian infrastructure to be turned over to clean energy etc. It could work out beneficial in the long run if it all ended up as superpowers posturing rather than going to war with one another!

I don't want to be the one to point this out, but, well, other things appear to go on behind closed doors. There has seemed to be an extreme thirst for WAR for a very long time now, some of us have witnessed it most of our lives now and it isn't something any of us want to continue.

A) They're still not switching fast enough.

It actually plays into China's hand all of this commotion, they'll take all assets in any situation regardless, people need to understand that. As the West continue to struggle to secure resource supplies, the ones who have the resources simply move forward at pace.

No penalties will ever come to Eurasia mining, not in any situation.

There is no real threat of war, it only exists in the minds who like to whip up hysteria for their agenda. Not even close to the amount of ground forces required to launch any invasion on Ukraine, it appears as a simple defensive strategy exercise. Practising troop movements in the area in the event of a move on Crimea tbh. Not one troop has left Russian borders, you need to understand that, they're exercising on their own soil, something all countries do. All countries practice defensive strategies within their own borders.

If Russia has an active health and safety system in place like the UK's, then that also slows jobs right down due to certain weather conditions etc. One forecast of thunder and lightening (or even torrential rain) for example will close a job down until the weather passes due to health and safety.

Anything where ground investigation and that type of thing is involved is notorious for taking longer than expected. When i worked in the industry it was very rare that things were done in the original time allocated, as standard every job pretty much ran over schedule.

Machine breakdowns, casing jams, replacement of broken drilling tools, weather causing ground conditions which stop you getting in certain site locations. The list goes on and on of things that can and quite often do slow a job down. They always get done however.
