I fully agree kevman72, but, the talks have went on for quite some time now, they were always going to come to a conclusion one way or another. The positive rhetoric has been in place for days now, it's good to see people finally acknowledging it. The turning point was always the neutrality and not joining NATO aspect.

A very hard watch from the sideline, but, at least they finally appear to be getting there with the peaceful solution!

The Russian's already accept the non-military aligned EU status at their borders, you only have to look at Finland and Sweden to understand that. The only real thing they do not accept at its borders is NATO, so, theoretically, the EU non-military aligned option will always be available to Ukraine and it will always be the most logical and peaceful long term solution for the country.

Read it again MasksNewNorm, there are EU members who are non NATO. Ukraine is being refused EU membership currently either way, just the compromise is similar to a non-miliary aligned EU state, like the mentioned Austria!

The solution coming out is indeed very similar, what's different is the EU not accepting Ukraine as a member at the minute. The compromise appears to be on a very similar footing however.

You can fully understand why he perhaps thought that they would be there for him. Prior to the whole thing starting they were there training his forces etc -

Crazy situation tbh, very glad it appears to be coming to an end!

The sabre rattling should have achieved the same aim, but, i think certain people convinced him that NATO was there for him etc. Looks like he learned the hard way that they're not. That base near the Polish border is a NATO type of base, where UK and US personnel go to train Ukraine forces etc, it's perhaps what helped provide the illusion that they would be there for him.

Personally, i'm glad that it will all end without him becoming a martyr and it will end very soon on a general conflict length scale.

My heart goes out to all of the innocent people who have been caught up in the whole thing, it's always the every day person that suffers the most in these situations, such a terrible shame in this day and age! They should find far better ways to settle their differences, war and conflict shouldn't be required these days imho

We've been over this numerous times now, Zelensky's side are saying the same thing for heavens sake. Both sides are stating that the talks are tough but they are close to an agreement.

The whole Russian side is lieing in talks got boring as soon as Zelensky's side stated the same close to an agreement position, give it a rest!
