If nothing else, we're due a trading report at the end of June - that usually gives a fairly thorough overview of what they're up to.

When I spoke with Ralph Hazell to clarify the matter he stated that Goldbloc is *not* FCA Approved but rather the company has a general e-money licence issued by the FCA. I've since been in touch with the FCA and curiously they informed me that after completing a search of their Financial Services Register, they were unable to locate either The Real Asset Company or Lionsgold which means "they're not authorised by ourselves" I expect there must be a misunderstanding and it will be resolved in due course. .

Can anyone point me in the direction of anything that might lead anyone to believe that Lionsgold/TRAC/Goldbloc etc are FCA approved??? Thanks in advance

It's illiquid in physical form & difficult to sell just a fraction.

As the price of gold fluctuates, you could theoretically buy the gold whenever the value is low and spend it when it's high. It is also possible that it might give a better exchange rate for international transactions. But don't believe me - apparently I'm just a de-ramping troll! :-)

It's a shame that anything other than "40p by year end" is met with personal abuse, but like you say, we're all used to the Internet

How is simply reporting observations in any way 'de-ramping'? And besides, surely a sound investment can withstand any level of scrutiny?!

I have tested the form submission and, despite the standard insecure HTTP connection, each individual 'call' appears to be made using HTTPS (which *IS* secure!)... This leads me to believe it is a temporary 'fudged' solution to provide access while the site is overhauled... Hopefully not the 'at face value' security risk implied, but highly unprofessional for a financial service provider none the less. IMHO, DYOR, GLA etc etc

In my understanding, the page provided is a standard XHTML document which employs simple Javascript form-submission functions to collect, validate and relay the unencrypted data over an insecure HTTP connection

Were anyone to enter their details and use this page it would collect and transfer that data over standard http protocol which is not secure.regardless of the security of the destination. I was the director of an IT company which, amongst other things, was responsible for internet security and I am confident in my understanding of this matter.
