Read through the case , it takes a while as the the laws around IP are different in UK and US.

There were 172m shares initially. At the peak price of £40 a share it gave the business a valuation of £6.8bn

If metro were to get back to all time high with its current share insurance of 672m due to dilution that would make the share price £10.23.

So realistically 10x on investments now.

Assuming if it ever goes back to those levels

This is it, the years of the dip and depression is finally worth it lol

Tbh I’m not alarmed.

Metro has always taken the biggest hit when news surrounding the UK economy is negative.

Quite frankly, the UK’s GDP, economy, politics is all over the place and the £ has taken a hit too.

Shorts have pretty much all left so if they thought about the “bubble bursting” they’d have held on rather than cashing out all last week.

If anything, this is a good opportunity to buy in more.

No one was actually paying interest. The selling point of the product was 56 days interest free and paying it off before any interest is accrued. Then you have the people who dont pay it off leading to debt, leading to selling debt, leading to loss.

Clearly they have seen that the product is not a money maker, therefore I'm in support of this decision.

When i worked there, the type of clients that we had weren't your ideal credit card good user.

So many debts were written off or sold to 3rd parties for debt collections. Money used for this product, is better directed at a product which will bring in revenue as opposed to costing them.

These are the things we want to see.

Its nice to see some positive change given we have just seen red for a while .

If they follow through with the plan and deliver on the ROTE they have outlined, there is scope for this share to rocket.

I mean even at 50p that only puts the value of Metro Bank at around £300m which is nothing for a bank.

If share allocations remain the same and Metro delivers, it could be worth the same as virgin money which would be at £4.83 a share

And taking a £100m loss on it.
