Floppy, the numbers are insane. Harmony clearly are going to want all of this especially that they have the mine shafts already there. Sure they will need to upgrade Target 3 but with that Jorc and grams per tonne does any sane person think that they will not mine?

If you apply for a mining license I guess that means you have an intention to mine. 6mn Ozs. Harmony Will want 100% ownership of this sooner or later

There is so much demand for natural resources, Glencore and Rio Tinto getting it together today. Harmony are not daft and as the biggest gold miner in SA if they want a mining license they will get it

I agree that Harmony will have no choice other than to buy Lex out of the JV. How much will they pay for the $26 billion dollars worth of gold is the only issue in my opinion. Whatever the amount both parties agree will be many multiples of the current market cap.

With the Jelani JV now worth 26.5 billion dollars it seems inconceivable that Harmony will not want to go ahead with the project. The only question I have is how much they are willing to pay us for our 50% ?

With the institutional connections Marex have this could be a really big deal for Lex. Why would Marex want to take on Lex, the market cap of most of their other corporates is way bigger

Market makers very short again and with JV announcement due any day could spell trouble for them

I have been trying to think why the JV will not go ahead. There is no logical reason why this will not happen so either Harmony partners with us they buy our portion of the JV.

Anyone looking at the time and sales of trades over the last period of time will know that the market is very short of Lex. With potential upcoming RNS in Jelani and US assets this could get very messy for the Market

Dibs.. they could buy us out tomorrow. Harmony had an update today, their Target 1 mine is not profitable and has not been for quite a while, the JV is right next door with much higher grades and would extend the life of the mine for many years. Mine shafts are in place but clearly would need some work done. In my opinion Harmony give up on the whole project or buy us out. With gold at $4200 it’s pretty clear to me

If a decision to mine is taken on the $24billion JV I cannot see any option other than Harmony buying Lex out of the JV. The question is how much are they prepared to pay? Their cash flow will be off the scale with the current price of gold so funding will not be an issue for them

Great news, this clearly indicates to me that we are going to get some seriously positive news from either Jelani or US assets or both in the short term. MG and the directors not wanting to issue equity at this level when they probably could quite easily tells us everything we need to know

The numbers are almost so huge as to be unbelievable. They are the facts and eventually Lex will get a wider audience and the market will be scrambling to either get a stake or take over the whole company. Way more than 50% of the equity is in friendly hands so a low ball bid is out of the question. This is a great share to own

The drilling report from Jennings Pioneer suggested the presence of Tellurium, which I believe is a rare earth. Given what China is up to and the scarcity of this element this could be extremely valuable to Lex

I 100% agree with you that Harmony will want to buy us out of the JV, how much they would have to pay Lex for total control of 25 billion dollars worth of Gold is an interesting question?

I doubt if Harmony will want to JV once a decision has been made, it’s surely a case of how much they are prepared to pay for our portion of the JV. Many times our Market Cap at least. They can’t go hostile and make a low ball bid for Lex as way more than 50% of our equity is in friendly hands. We are in an excellent position

Do you think it’s possible that Harmony will not want to proceed with the JV, Gold $4100, shaft’s already dug and in place, infrastructure in place, processing plant in place. $25 billion dollars of Gold is a tricky one to turn your back on

The MM’s are very short of Lex. Their strategy will be to keep the stock where it is with a wide spread to deter buyers and hope interest fades so they can walk the stock down again and preserve their p&l. Any aggressive buying will spook them to buy stock off each other. Good position for bulls of Lex to be in at last
