That reduction was over £370k in buys at today’s valuation and only 1/6 of the shorts they hold. Then there’s Qube and Acadian too. It’s going to cause a big rise if they do start to reduce their positions.

Obviously no one really knows what’s around the corner but I reckon the price will bounce back tomorrow in line with the late bounce with the American related stocks. I think the fall was due to the disappointing US inflation figures.

Is it the strong US employment numbers meaning no rate cut for a while.

As of the 15th of Jan, there was the lowest number of shorts since April last year. Seems shorters are retreating.

I'm with you Savvy, the trading update was just a notification that the profit from the JV most likely won't be included in this financial year, but will be in the next. Other than that it was very positive. Even Marshall Wallace are reducing their short position. I think those that just sold up will regret it.

I think you're right about buying in under £3.50 too.

The reduced income for this tax year (reconfirmed to be next year instead) has now been factored in and even if they do need another cash raise, the last one was easily funded by the institutions without PI's getting a sniff!!

Qube actually increased their short position on the 19th. Don’t understand!!

Marshall Wace reduced their short position further on the 1st to 0.78%. That was probably the large trade - very good sign.
