I think it is just sinking in how important Musk’s words are to nickel mining.

Tesla Battery Day on 22 September has some big announcements to make.

There was always the slight risk that it would be announced that masses of nickel would not be needed to increase the range of EV batteries, because they had developed alternative technology or tweaked something.

We now know Musk perceives a shortage of nickel coming and would love to secure future supplies at a stable price, because we all know what happens to the price when there are nickel shortages.

Perhaps the stars are aligning.
