Same as 2018 its all about supply and demand dynamics with panic buying the fuel and the traders will milk it, ( it's Christmas come early for them).

Never seen a 9% FeV rise before in 7 years of charting vanadium prices, thats serious panic buying.
I think that this will be an even faster rise then 2018 as there's been no 12 months warning of new rebar regulations, banning of **** imports, no 10000mtv stockpile found hiding in China and it takes time to start up the stone coal plants and most are now environmentally controlled.
Nobium can't be a substitute for all Vanadium applications and only one mine supplies the world's demand it's more expensive to process and again it takes time and money to reconfigure plants.

On 12 /01/2018 European V205 was $11 per lb and European Fev was $55 per kg.
So still a bit of alignment to come.

All metal exchanges are slightly different but eventually they usually all align.
BMN use the privious monthly price for FeV achieved using Asian Metals for sales to Asia. LMB (Fastmarkets) for Europe and CR Ryan's Note for US sales.
Asian Metals release their updates around 0330 hrs every week day so its a good guide but not always showing the best price.

Asian Metals mid price for European FeV today is $43.75 per kg, thats a rise of $8.25 per kg in a week then.
At estimated sales of 4500mtv that's a hell of a lot of profit on the bottom line.

So both of our main markets, the US and Europe now have a mid price of $43 per kg amid a very tight supply market and if sanctions are placed on Evraz in Russia supply will get even tighter.

Ferro-alloys inquiries jump amid Russia-Ukraine tensions with small gains for ferro-chrome prices
Ferro-alloy prices showed the first signs of reacting to tensions between Russia and Ukraine after an escalation on Tuesday February 22 that prompted the UK government to impose sanctions on five Russian banks and three oligarchs.

Ferro-chrome and ferro-vanadium market participants reported an increase in inquiries for material, while ferro-chrome prices marginally edged up.
Fastmarkets’ assessment of the price of ferro-chrome high carbon 6-8.5% C, basis 65-70% Cr, max 1.5% Si, delivered Europe edged up slightly in the week to Tuesday February 22, to $1.77-2.02 per lb from $1.76-2.02 per lb.
One high carbon ferro-chrome seller reported that he is starting to see “panic” among buyers while the market awaits the impact of newly-imposed sanctions from the west.
The ferro-vanadium market is also closely monitoring the rising political and military tensions between Ukraine and Russia, with Russia receiving more inquiries than usual from end-consumers, Fastmarkets heard.
“We are getting many more requests for material today [Tuesday],” a ferro-vanadium producer in Russia told Fastmarkets.
