What sort of man?

How can someones politics change from Tory to Labour because of contrived reasons.
This is a man who has calculated that he has a better chance to remain an MP (having only secured a few hundred majority) as the memory of some in the constituency fades regarding the Labour party's policy on Brexit.
Also what an unfortunate first name - unforgiving apparently .
Not having to go so far, we also find some conservatives (anonymous and not) who are 'concerned' with their newly won seats and not forgetting of course one or two who have been overlooked for government and those removed from government with an axe to grind.

Why the drop?

A big short term rise in share price on shareholder returns prospects..
A 3rd Feb rate rise probability had risen to at least 80% I would have thought , but any news such as sales figures etc is capable of knocking a few percentage points off of that probability.

I am 100% certain you haven't opened a SELL on IG, which means your money isn't on it.
I am also pretty sure that you would open a BUY on IG below 50 (or before) before reaching a share price of 44p, and that you would then be a RAGING BULL.

I would rather have shares in the demerged unit later in the year - the market will tell us the true value.

Any signs that the economy/businesses are are doing well (hence increased valuations)
are a good indicator for the prospects of banks,of which Lloyds is a leading UK player.

Nationwide 5 year fix up again since I checked not long ago.
Up 65% from 3 or 4 months ago - 0.99% to the current 1.64% - obviously still very low by historical standards.

A quick check - it looks like it was at about £65 last year

Rio was at £60 last year so I imagine that it could be a possibility this year as well.
As with my BHP holding, RIO is not a stock I keep a regular eye on.
Having bought 6 years ago, by July 2019 I had sold enough to now only having less than 40% of my original holding which I am likely to keep forever as they are virtually for free (excluding dividends) .
