I would have been closing an SB near the recent high.
I have probable opened and closed 60+ SB's just this year.
Share purchases and sales have their own level .

You can claim anything if it has logic to it.
If I bought 1000 shares in a stock for 50p and sold half at 100p, I would say that I have 500 shares for free. Others may say they have made a profit of £250 and hold 500 shares at 50p each

Just bought
back the amount of shares I sold on 7th Jan at just under 53p for just under 38.5p

I hope so as well - property prices have been way out of sync based on income/price ratios
for many years now compared with pre financial crash era, It has been the switch to the
'affordability' criteria by lenders, that along with various schemes have increased prices to the current levels.

SB's are an investment just as a share purchase is.
I use SB's as shorter term investments which can be more frequent than share transactions.
SB's and the number of them cuts out the associated costs that come with a share transaction.
I have closed 3 SB's today. If they were shares instead that would have come with stamp duty and 6 transaction charges.

I don't.
I keep the dividend amount received from my portfolio separate.

My shares in Lloyds are an investment that comes at a cost
My SB's are an investment in Lloyds bank that come at a cost.
The costs associated with Lloyds can be reduced with sales of shares or profits from SB's.
Simply enough for most to understand apart from those who are simple.
