Having read a bit of my link it looks like it is possible to have a state pension of over £400 per week because of SERPS/S2P

New state pension is £203.85 a week currently plus about 8%? starting next year.

X/30th's (old system) + SERPS or X/35th's (new system) .

I imagine the former is unlikely come to less than the later unless serps were made only for a few years.

I cannot remember the exact amount but my father was getting over £300 a week before he died because of SERPS.

Personally I worked for a bit over 29 years from the age of 16, with some years in serps before being contracted out at some point at HSBC. I imagine though that when I get my state pension, it will be greater than the new pension max because of a number of years under serps. At a guess I was probably contracted out for the last 10-15 years at HSBC

Yes for anyone who would only be eligible for the new state pension calculation.

I believe that a calculation would have been made using old state pension (30 years contributions to get max) plus any SERPS payments, and compare with maximum payment (if 35 years contributions made) under the new pension, and whatever works out to be the highest amount , that is what will be paid

Your posts on this board simply consist of moans like a number of other people.

You and others really need to differentiate between the performance of the Lloyds business

and the price at which the stock market allows investors to trade each share at.

I get my figure from the London stock exchange website (not sure how often it is updated)

Only 4 months to wait until the next buyback programme. As regards to purchasing when low, the share price was low at the start of this years programme.

No one can see the future to choose the best 6 month period in which to start purchasing. They simply start asap after a buyback is announced.

what a joke statement - 'caution' 'decision' - how can that be the case if the BOD hadn't even considered it.

At the current price levels it would be a good idea to throw £3 Billion into the pot.

If they decide to purchase shares to keep for future employee distributions,10% of purchased shares could be kept in treasury for that purpose, and the rest cancelled
