Even Labour cannot make things far worse from day 1 - it is a gradual process - could be 2 years + from now, in which time Lloyds share price could be priced substantially higher, when you could be getting margin calls from IG.

I would be equally happy if the Vodafone share investments were conducted at as low a price as possible to remove the right of a greater number of current shares as possible , to investor returns - and equally happy if it went to 80p , 90p , £1 + in the shorter term for those investors wishing to exit.

Waiting for MAY 14th unless it goes down to 62p beforehand ,in which case I would be buying more.

Some landlords no matter whether tenants claim benefits or not, have to end up selling properties as they have overstretched themselves, especially when money is not as cheap to borrow as it once was.

Some landlords may have rent that they receive (all or partially) coming from tenants that claim housing benefit, that the landlord will then receive directly or indirectly.

If you do not like housing benefit criteria then your annoyance should be aimed at politicians who have set up the benefits system.

I personally don't like child benefit and the benefit that pays for peoples childcare.

Expense of children should be the responsibility of the parents, not other taxpayers.

Your logic - If vod buys back 12 billion euro's of shares & cancel them, the market cap will reduce by 12 billion euro's. The 12 billion euro's comes out of the market cap.

Current market cap is 22 Billion and they hold over 10 Billion in cash (will have to wait for final results for a new exact figure)

The market decides on valuation on a daily basis. Th ratio between market cap and NAV has varied greatly over the years. I have already bought at 64p and was happy to do so. I had already posted on here a while ago before it happened that the dividend should be cut and that the shares should be bought, and that is what happened. I await full year results.

The investment in Vodafone shares will increase earnings per share, which is one driver for increased market valuation.

Aviva sold assets and returned the cash to shareholders.

Vodafone are selling assets but are not returning the cash to shareholders, they will be using the money for investments, some of which will be purchasing Vodafone shares at way under NAV

Vodafone has a market cap of about 22 Billion.

It already has 10 Billion + in cash and is selling assets for a further 12 Billion in cash
