Stamp Duty Reserve Tax (SDRT) is automatically collected, where due, on the purchase of shares electronically settled in CREST. Alternatively, Stamp Duty is due on non-electronic settlements where the transaction is over £1000. SDRT & Stamp Duty apply primarily to transactions when you buy: 1. Shares in a UK company 2. Shares in a foreign company with a share register in the UK From 28 April 2014, SDRT & Stamp Duty will *NO* longer be chargeable on transactions in eligible securities on London Stock Exchange’s *AIM* and *High Growth Segment*. Purchases made by Private Investors in an eligible security will therefore be SDRT / Stamp Duty exempt.
I can clearly see the frustration and the way this stock has gone down it too late to play short. I think we have touched the base and I do not see it dipping further down. Market has shown little confidence at last and I belive it will start picking up next week. Have a good weekend its gonna be bright and sunny :)
Hi Bee, I think its general market sentiment due to Europian issues especially from German Chancellor's warning that the euro was "in danger". Germany also moved to ban a type of short-selling blamed for creating market instability. Sentiment is awful and confidence has been trashed. I am just feeling lucky that I have sold my holding last week to top-up in RKH. As I have said before GRT is a good company for a mid/long term investiment and now I am waiting for a good entry point.
Hi Bee, Thans for your reply. Glad you are holding from such a nice price. I genuinely feel GRT is very safe to be and it has long way to go. GRT is still keeping well in this volatile market where all the big players are on earth. I think as soon as we have a Govt this will start rising. I have done enough search on Internet and found no negetive news for Gartmore at the moment and I feel very confident about future prospects. End of the day every body should do their own reaserch before jumping to board. By the way I think RKH still have long way to go and I am sure it's not too late yet. I myself will be watching tomorrow and jump in as soon as price settles.
Topped up little more today but really unfortunate on RKH. My triggered got fired while I was away for Dentist and then price gone 45%up. Feeling sk**d up before weekend. Hope GRT will give some cash back next week.
...so my observation came true with in 24 hours. Good luck to all holders.
Sageview Capital MGP has bought 12,263,851 shares (Total 4.408%) Very steady at this minute I am hoping it to cross 160 mark by mid next week.
Lonestar Partners L.P has bought 10,000,000 Shares (total 3.25%).
Hi Teejayeem, Will it go North?? To be honest with you I do not know and I do not want to make any statment like that becuase I am not a speculator, I am an Investor and I always based my opinion based on my little knowledge about the market and internal feelings. Anyways, I always had a big faith in the company and it's team. I knew that sooner or later SP will climb up which has been proven today. Today's RNS has shown that Rambourg has not done anything which could have harm it's Customer. It was more of an Internal breach. Even FT writes: The firm has now completed a thorough investigation, which found no suggestion of dishonesty or a lack of integrity in Guillaume’s actions Gartmore’s investigation found no evidence that clients suffered losses from any breach of internal policy or that there was any breach by Gartmore of its obligations to ensure best execution. OK so based on all the facts I strongly belive that in a coming few months this stock price will climb back to its original drop price. What I also feel that coming few weeks might show some up-downs becuase of all other Europian issues. I think I have answered your question. Good Luck.
The Gartmore management team will be holding an analyst and investor conference call at 4pm today to take Q&A regarding today's announcement of Guillaume Rambourg's return and the appointment of Darrell O'Dea. Nice and steady this week. Hope it keep growing like this. Just wanted to share a news, not sure if it has anything to do with todays rise: http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-04-20/compartamos-draws-gartmore-on-rebound-as-ubs-projects-22-rally.html
Volume is too low for this jump and now this news from Reuter it makes me feel bit nervous now...but hold on I already said its going to be really intersting as we approach 4 weeks time line. Either way up--or-down... I don't mind as long its moving (sign of life). LONDON, April 15 (Reuters) - An early backer of Gartmore (GRTR.L) star manager Roger Guy has pulled money from one of his funds in the wake of the suspension of high-profile co-manager Guillaume Rambourg last month. Ken Kinsey-Quick, who runs portfolios of absolute return funds at London-based Thames River and who seeded Guy's hedge fund in the late 1990s, said he was concerned about what could happen to the funds following Rambourg's suspension.
Very tight and ready for a roller-coaster ride.
Hi Super, Yes, IMO we have already seen 20% loss in the current decline. I do not see its going further down and last one weeks stability has already proven that. Keep your seat belts tights and ready for a intersting ride from here.
Hi Super, I think everybody is building up their grounds for the next week (23 April) when we might have some announcement from the company. Its just a rough guess about the date becuase it was 4 weeks suspension. IMO I don't think the suspension will lead to a 20% decline as reported by FT its only possible if he get sacked which is highly unlikely becuase It appears to be a breach of internal and pretty over the top rules on directing trades to specific dealers.
