Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
I've not been in this share for long, but I really like the prospects and the way the company seems to be being run. Very happy with this morning's RNS, and managed to double my holding on the slight pull back before the second rise, so my numbers are looking healthy, thank you ALBA. This to me is definitely a LTH.

@Gladiator57: crikey, newish to share dealing and you are ready to shove circa £81k (a few million at 2.7p) on a penny share? You must be loaded already or a true gambler (even though I agree, this one looks the business and most unlike the usual penny-share mining AIM stocks that are better at mining shareholders than rock).
I'm not trying to be offensive, just a bit incredulous.
I was recently looking at TW's ************* site, what a load of rubbish. Half the time he is wittering on about personal stuff of no interest to anyone other that his fanbois. His view on UFO has been that it is a bubble, ridiculously high market cap with just promises of jam to come (his phrase).
Thankfully most of us here are in because we see the real promise and underlying value of the assets held; for me it's already a ten-bagger since I bought, and like most I believe that can be repeated at least.

The way I read it, he probably sees this as a way of securing his income for years to come, as opposed to having to continue the hassle factors of being a self-employed consultant through his 60's. given that being COO will almost certainly see him getting some tasty options as part of his package. So self-interest certainly, but with insider knowledge. A good positive signal.
Thanks @Worzel7 ; I'm not a big fan of charting and haven't learnt its fine points, but I do read off from the conclusions against my own view of global macro-economics for validation. I do believe the reporting of the gold/silver/commodities bull run (I think it may go broader than precious metals), as a result of the massive debt being run up by all of the major economies causing a relative flight to value in physical resources. In this vein i cannot help wondering if there will be a lot of buying of precious metals by China and its private sector puppets, including takeovers or buy-ins, in order to replace its massive $ treasury reserves with physical commodities. It would fit with the desire for global hegemony in the Chinese leadership by creating a basis for the Yuan to become a new reserve currency. However this is just a personal view that is the basis of my exposure of 20% of my SIPP and 80% of my ISA and trading accounts in physical resource proxies.
Hi, I recently signed up to this board although I've been holding UFO since buying at 0.2p (top-slicing close to the recent peak but still holding for me a reasonable sized amount). I got into this board as it seems the closest to the way the old version of the iii board was, and is clearly exhibiting some of the same noise lately on the small mining shares, to wit a lot of noise and ramping/de-ramping to trigger emotional trading responses. Let's face it these pointless posts are easy to spot and can be largely ignored as they are usually quite transparent, it's just a pain in the rectum to have to wade through them looking for the vein of gold (or silver or ilmenite or whatever). But that's what we need to do because the more active boards are, the more ads can be presented which makes money for the hosts. So I suggest we just keep our powder dry for when it can be best employed, in calling out useful and important insights into our investments.
BTW, it does shock me that on several of my speculative miner investments, there seem to be people who can buy many millions of shares, and thus invest tens of thousands of pounds, on companies that don't even have proven JORC resources. Scary, they must either have balls of steel or be damn fools who sometimes get lucky. I wish I had those balls (and money).
DYOR, GLA, etc
That's the thing - I just want to get some understanding of the ability of the company to capitalise on that potential (I know you guys are already believers and I am not in any way doubting, just needing to do my own research as we always say!)
Hi all, please excuse ignorance here but I've just followed up on a mention somewhere else of ALBA, and it does look very interesting for a speculative buy, but: the last data I can see indicates £210k at bank, a burn of £1.31m in the last FY, and they've just terminated an investment finance facility. So where will the money come from for continued operations? It's completely possible that I've missed something as I've only just started looking into this one, but as it seems there are some devoted followers here, I thought I would tap your rich vein of knowledge of this company before delving further.
Any takers? Thanks
