Yes, like many others, I had invested here to hopefully help fund a retirement. However, like so many others, it now looks like, at 71, I'm not likely to see 73. Still, mustn't grumble, it hasn't been a bad time and half my school mates have already passed.
Down, down and more down is the endless money burn here. My father died 60per years ago, and the then residue of his cash was invested in Standard Life. All it has ever done since is lose. My mortgage, when it came to the bit, was backed by a Standard Life policy. Guess what? Didn't cover it on repayment, had to sell the house! The remaining shares are worth half in cash terms than they were ten years ago. Just a lifetime of lost money.
Yeah. Suck it up, I suppose, at least it returns some of my investment at 50p/share.
This really hasn't done what everyone thought it would. I'm fact, something of a Cloud Cuckoo.
Same boat. A lot of.
I missed the announcement of Christians' retirement, bUt I suppose it must bIe imminent. I've just turned 70. He and I are about the same age, we had business dealings around Omagh when we were both are n our mid twenties and he worked for Ennex. Nice fella, lives full time men Dublin I believe.
Been a long hard sit here. Never any solid news, the odd limp annonuncement, an occasional flacid comment, and then reference to uphill digging recently. I suppose it'll come good, eventually.
. Wouldn't be unusual. Wholesale and retail are very different coffee is good example of exorbitant profit at the counter!
Afaik it was wound up some years ago. Bankrupt, caput, closed, deregistered, gone, no more. Shares useless in a dead company!
Hope not. Didn't turn out to be multi bagger everyone said t'would be a year or more ago. I have 2gg in here, not a fortune, but I might have better backing a couple of gg??
