Twatcher - you're missing the point that Innova are hard to use for an amateur hence the poor results in the field. Compare that to saliva where you will struggle to get it wrong and real world results are far more consistent.

You've lost me..what are you on about masks for? I'm saying if you allow people to do their LFTs unsupervised to gain entry somewhere then they can literally just not swab anything, say they have, and guess what...ooh negative. Yippee. Have you even done an LFT before?
Goldtrig - re LFTs What happens if someone deliberately doesn't swab properly..so they swab their lip as they're not being monitored knowing full well it will never come back positive thus they'll be allowed into the game..
Exactly...if he wanted to sell out he would have done it with his main holding under the radar. He wouldn't exercise options and potentially wobble the share price if he them wanted to sell his much bigger holding... totally the wrong way around. He's not stupid...
Fair value on this stock (remember this is essentially a holding company for a number of promising investments) was around 50p before the promise shown by paratec re the covid test sent it into orbit only 2 weeks ago!! We just heard that the test is fantastic and works...so what has changed? Maybe it'll take longer to put into production than anticipated but do people really think covid is going to be gone and this winter we won't see a massive rise in infections and new dangerous variants everywhere? We can't close our borders forever and neither can others. Look at Europe. Therefore accurate testing will be around for a long long time. That mean buy at the dirt cheap levels for what appears to be one of the most flexible, quick and accurate tests coming to market. No brainer for those who can be patient.
Once we've completed TT and DHSC test selected it will be.
Govt kit worth about 1m/wk, the rest is our capacity and expect about 900k/wk to also go to the govt. Last yr we only has a TOTAL capacity of 100k/wk
Computer909 - you realise that this isn't a food intolerance of HIV pandemic right? That every single penny and second of resource globally this yr has been focused on fighting covid? Can't believe it's a surprise to some ppl that those products have struggled this yr. Doesn't mean there isn't a big market for them. Everyone in North America nowadays has some sort of food intolerance, it's big business!
You know TT /CE not complete yet right?? Therefore we can't produce and sell until that's done.
They've announced s partnership with Mologic / GAD to bring their test into production more quickly and use them for manufacturing alongside BBI/Abingdon.
Interesting, I can see the value in corporates offering bi annual antibody tests for "piece of mind". Whether having low antibodies would entitle you to an earlier booster jab is a different matter.
That could be where the rumoured NHS antibody tracking app would come in to play as well. They send everyone a kit every 6mths and those without antibodies get bumped up the appointment list for boosters.
The most vulnerable will be first but then when you get lower down the list, people can still have bad / prolonged illness, so they s could be a way of prioritising those more likely to be at risk..lots of admin but nothing decent tech couldn't sort out.
Regulator, thanks.
I think lots of people are indeed focusing on the very near term with chants of TT completion etc whereas given the timing it could be another month or 2 before we hear of significant orders.
Re the Elisa lab test, isn't that antibody? Can't see why airport testing would be for antibody and in a lab which takes too long anyway. I can't see much value in it. Rampers talking about 43k capacity per day etc. This is antibody, not antigen and I'm not aware of any major antibody testing going on currently.
We can hope the idea of a vaccine passport pivots to an antibody passport but then you get into the debate of T-cells Vs antibodies.
It's all about antigen in my opinion and we need TT done asap.
Regulator, Thanks for your thoughts, in light of that, where do you see the upside? We won't be announced as being in the framework which could have a big neg effect on sh px in the short term. People will assume we missed the boat as TT too slow to be in bed with the govt. Not sure how we can also be approved to manufacture for Mologic in the tender given TT isn't complete either. Govt will want proof of capacity.
So are we essentially looking at direct sales of the antigen under Visitect branding / hoping we can take part when the framework is reviewed?
Wallbrook suggested ODX had the tenders firmly in their sights with the scale up.
Re Antibody RTC, hoping that the new framework is just a workaround to satisfy legal issues and we do expect the govt to change tact on their current, somewhat silent view on the usefulness of antibody testing?
Question..given we hadn't completed TT/CE marking before the 912m tender closed, were we able to apply? It's pretty tricky for the govt to purchase a product on the promise that we'll be able to start making it soon? I imagine other manufacturers would challenge an award given to someone who was unable to manufacture.
There is another news show at 6.30pm, could be on then
You don't think that when they pitch to major buyers or governments they're not going to be mentioning Mologic?? How could they not given they didn't actually design the test!? Skoda use the VW GTI engines and I guarantee they tell you that when you're looking to buy one. It adds lots of weight
But what we are selling is Mologic designed tech so clearly their product succeeding is good for ours. If the test was poor and mkt didn't like it, it would sure have an impact in the other direction so why not in reverse?
