Ctw2014 be careful of the "jam tomorrow" mantra!!!
I have been in this share for about 2 years and am still a fan of its products/potential. This year certainly seems to have many more realistic monetisation announcements but as I keep saying re this share (sorry) the lack of director buying on what seems a VERY VERY cheap share price considering the announcements they are making has stopped me from topping up.
Announcements VERY RARELY come with any hard figures (most frustratingly with the bread packaging contract which should be a game changer).
Me and MANY MANY on here who have held for longer have yet to see the jam!!!!
"outperformed" after an abysmal run!!!
Let's just hope that tomorrow it doesn't turn out to be "It's better to travel than to arrive"!!!
I don't understand your question? They are the biggest US operator via their Fan Duel tie up.
Not "trials", "pipelines", I interpreted that as potential other contracts with other customers but TBH I can't see any other pipelines coming near the size of GB!?!?!
I think anyone with a holding in SYM thinks the GB announcement is a game-changer for the company.....FINALLY.
But has anyone seen ANYTHING with regards to what this might be worth?
In both the RNS and the Proactive interview not a single figure has been mentioned!!!
With the scale of GB surely this is a multi multi-million pound turnover announcement and something that should double/treble the SYM SP? Yet what have we had, a 20%ish rise.
Are SYM directors currently in a closed trading period? It is yet another example where I'd like to see directors filling their boots, yet they aren't.
Stingersplash, apologies I'm going from memory as I can't be bothered to find the article, but GMR recently stated that because new contracts incur very little extra costs new business has a gross profit margin of about 70% against 40% up until now, so all new business will give a bigger hit to the bottom line. (Just to re-state I'm going from memory so the actual percentages may be a few points away from what I've stated) but it means with new markets being moved into the bottom line could grow very quickly. I seriously don't understand the valuation of GMR in the mid 20s and make them a strong buy.
TYVM gewilla, that confirms what I thought except didn't know about the CC column, will look out for that in future.
It does throw up one further question for me, is there any way of knowing a company's hedging positions, obviously could be hugely important for any company with considerable foreign earnings?
Sorry that this will seem incredibly basic to most but I'm assuming a lot of BAT's sales are in US dollars, whether actually sales in America or as the currency in other countries?
So is a strong US$ against the £ a positive when it comes to published results (in GBP) and therefore for the share price or is my thinking wrong/too simplistic?
TIA for anyone's responses.
Will definitely follow up in the coming days.
The huge potential of the US market is why this is my 2nd largest holding......I wish it wasn't :-(
There will be no M&A activity until after the UK Gambling white paper and even then, who would be big enough to bid? A benign white paper would give a significant bounce though.
Tomorrow's trading announcement needs to be MUCH better than 2 months' ago figures.
I'd be a massive buyer at these levels if I wasn't already in for too much!!!
I emailed Gore to ask who and how their NAV is calculated, I didn't even get the courtesy of a reply.
While most will be in for the dividend the NAV is obviously critical for share price support and hopefully appreciation.
This is the 2nd company that I have written to as a shareholder who has not even given me the courtesy of a reply, are there any legal requirements to reply to shareholder requests, after all we own the company!!!!
41% through PB and 38% through HL although I applied for £1,000 more through HL so I'm guessing sliding scale depending on amount applied for.
Anyone not happy with their broker try IG, moved from HL to them 18 months ago and couldn't be happier, smash HL out of the park, although IG weren't used for the GSF issue!!! :-(
Yes mine in HL are showing "assented line" too. Usual slow service from HL, PB let me know my allocation last night.
I got allocated 41% of my application, everyone else the same?
@adv11 I thought it was an open offer?
@Krustysmegma, yes, I'm afraid the app falls WAY SHORT on ALL your requirements. Even the most basic things are a real headache. Many of the historical offers only show the industry of the offer rather than the share itself, it took me AGES to trawl through my emails to find an offer I had applied for re seeing the issue price re CGT declaration. The app was APPALLING on that score never mind all your requirements!!!
BUT at least they are bringing previously unavailable share issues to the "little man". Although track record performance of the issues they have been part of is pretty appalling and I have a considerable overall loss to prove it!!!! That is of course purely my fault for poor choices but there is a long list of stocks with 30, 40, 50% losses and I've just got out of Active Energy with a thumping 85% loss!!!!
Thank you @Etotheipi my skim reading missed that re intermediaries!!!
I'm not too worried about the dilution re the £75m, although as I've previously said I do get angry that existing shareholders don't get preference if the price is a discount to the SP!!!! It's the following £675m that worries me. Surely if there are £675m in the issue pipeline that will be a drag on the share price for a considerable time?
I think the future is very bright for GSF trading wise but I'm not so sure investment wise in the short term?
TY @Krustysmegma re the C shares, certainly a lot to consider there!!! Especially the flexibility the issuer gets re timings and pricings!!!!
Re PB I don't know your reasons but after MANY MANY glitches in the early days I now find the app pretty good.
Thank you @adv11 yes just got a notification through.
Hi folks, I'm hoping someone on here can answer 2 questions please. What is the difference between the "C" shares and the ordinary shares and are Primary Bid definitely going to be used for the initial issue? I can't find answers to either question on the prospectus, GSF website or a google search.
Thank you very much in advance.
On a more general theme, I get so angry at the general disregard for existing shareholders when they are not given preferential access to a discounted issue (to the SP). What have existing shareholders lost because of this new issue, approximately 4%? With a SP that will stay static for months due to the massive overall share issues to come.
