PowerChina have majority of EPC contracts in Bangladesh..it’s fact. They will have regular contacts with Gov officials due to their EPC work...so they’re not going to waste their time AND committing to JV with tiddler like GCM, if they haven’t had been given a nudge...think!

Coming next this will be hugh, yeterdays RNS stated it’s already finalised so most likely their negotiating their equity investment. This is now bargain basement after yesterday’s news.

The Chinese companies dominate both the EPC and equity investment market in Bangladesh. According to information on EPC contracts gathered by Market Forces, Chinese construction companies are involved in up to 16.5GW worth of EPC contracts. Japanese companies, the second largest EPC contractors in Bangladesh, are involved in just 2.4GW of coal power capacity. According to Greenpeace figures, up to 98% of proposed Bangladeshi coal power plants with Chinese involvement also include equity investment.

From all the EPC contractors in Bangladesh, guess who are at number 1 by capacity they know Bangladesh inside out, number 2 is another Chinese firm at 4GW :

Derampers say Tang is blinded...then you will say these large global corporations NFC are also, and then PowerChina, then Chinese Government who sanction the JV....lol

This is nothing to do with wisdom, either you get it or you don’t. Are you trying to say you know better then PowerChina and NFC???

These are stare backed multinational $bn corporations, who are not going to risk their reputations for a project that is a no-goer...heaven sake they’ve been looking into this in great detail for last 18months (3x extensions to MOU) in order to ensue it’s viable and feasible and will get go ahead. Also, these companies need sign-off from the Chinese government before they commit, so one would expect government level discussions and assurance given right from the top of the Bangladesh government.

Seriously if you think this is a game lol, then you should try getting just an appointment with a chinese government backed multi $bn Corporation like PC. They day rate would blow you away!

They’ve been negotiating near 18 months now to get to a JV...PIs not appreciating on how big this is should just stay away than ask silly questions. No harm in doing little research before posting??

Good point...from what I could see it’s most likely this still being negotiated. Big global players like PC will negotiate hard on this and would want as much equity as they can get..money is no object for multi $bn companies like PC. This should be the next RNS and should come pretty soon as everything else appears finalised amongst them and NFC.

NFC/PC/GCM JV surely is transformational for GCM, absolutely terrific achievement. This powerhouse global players will make this happen, with Chinese government backing politically this will be a done deal with Bangla government.

NFC taking 5% of project equity, I’m sure PC will want a lot more!!

However, what an absolute bargain price here even after close PIs able to buy these under 20p...should not be allowed!

Meant to say at the end ‘PC signature to JV agreement’ will also be confirmed in the coming days. It’s good this way, for maximum impact this is the next rocket after we get rid of derampers / day traders!

Need to read the whole RNS! They have finalised the JV with Power China also (see below), it is just that NFC have signed first...PC will follow. The RNS clearly refers to this and confirms PC have been part of the JV negotiations and their JV role is also ‘finalised’...so coming days this should also be confirmed...(one at a time fella!)

IF big corporations like Power China get into JV with you then it means you have Chinese government backing, finance, political support, resources and know how to see such projects through.

Conclude...this is because Chinese state backed Power China not going to commit if Bangla government not going to approve. They’ve extended x3 and only now entered into JV...this is because they must now have assurance at gov level otherwise such multinational companies don’t waste their time!
