Ben - whatever you may think I DID NOT promise news and that's a very important distinction in your rather unedifying post.
LT
Catch - at one time it was seriously high at about 12p but, right now, after buying shedloads at .35p my average is about where we are ....... thankfully!
Also, thankfully sold about 15 million Aminex at an average above 3p to buy most so quite pleased as Aminex is now 1.6p!
LT
Just bought 752,022 and reckon that's just about it for now!!!
Takes my holding to about 73.5 million.
Looking forward to news ........ SOON!!!!!!
LT - Last Topup
jester - were you plagiarising/joshing or was your use of "last throw" by chance as that's exactly the reasoning for my moniker????
LT
......... the feast is about to be served!!!!
Best starve yourselves over the weekend and prepare to take your seats for the NUOG Grand Banquet slated to commence with Hors d'oeuvres at 07:00 hours on Tuesday, 6th November! There will be at least 6 courses in no particular order and do not be surprised if there are way more than 1 Main Course!
Bon Chance tout le monde!!!

LT (Salivating to the thought of Masticating Oblivion - the story of my life ........... so far!!!!!)
A huge "THANK YOU" to all the in-depth researchers whose contributions are so invaluable to me in underpinning why this is my single largest investment.
In the early days I used to do my own primitive research but good folk here present have taken research to a level that is far beyond my lowly pay grade!
This is now taking on all the characteristics of "Ockham's razor" whereby the simplest explanations are ofttimes the ones that we should pay attention to!
Thanks each!

The trolls and bottom-feeders are like chancy cosplayers in a sea of relative positivity where the real holders have no need of pretending!
Bring it on I say!

There's been some heavy rumours from serious holders that news is a coming .......... SOON!!!!
#exciting times eh????
LT
Wobwat - good to hear that you are getting the convergence as well!
I tell you what though - even with my huge holding (ed - be careful about innuendo old son!), I would not want to be an insider as I'd rather be outside the tent than inside doing my business if you get my drift!
Really exciting times .......... #excitingtimes
LT
Wobwat - but what a breathe of fresh air the Twitter room is eh?
Also, I am chuffed that we seem to have a convergence of solid sources indicating that we are about to enter into that most critical of all stages and that is: "The Vinegar Stroke" stage!
Fireworks next week eh????

I genuinely understand the frustrations of serious long-termers here, being one myself.
That said, I find myself in the very comforting situation of not needing to sell which means that I can bide my time until the day news comes and NUOG finally starts its very own ascendency to a level that its overall portfolio of assets and collateral makes it worthy of.
I passionately believe that to be considerably north of where we are right now BUT I refuse to look further than 5p with some saying that even that figure is cloud-cuckoo-land.
However, I feel real empathy and sympathy for those that have been forced to sell at any sort of loss and understand the anger and angst that such decisions carry as regards how these folk view NUOG.
I am in regular touch with people that are in regular touch with various NUOG people and can tell you that it looks like some very long-standing loose ends are being tied up but I fully appreciate that this has been said before so I leave myself open to ridicule for so saying!
BUT this time I have drawn my own line in the sand and can tell anyone that cares to listen that IF no news is forthcoming by the end of week commencing 12th November I intend to drive to Manchester to beard our esteemed Mr Minty in his very lair.
However, and very importantly, from what I am hearing I cannot see that this journey will be necessary!
LT
forget the "am" in "I am know" as it should read "I know"
LT
Hi all
Just back from a marvelous week with my family in Portugal, which very much puts into perspective how there are so many more important things than simply making ever more dosh!
That said, dosh is now very much foremost in my mind, I am know that there are clear and very present signs that Alan Minty has put the dissemination and promulgation of news for this week on the very top of his "to do" list!
I would be totally gobsmacked and incandescent If there were no news by Bonfire Night, to the very extent that my incandescence would be enough to light a fire under NUOG's reputation that would "burn baby burn!" a la:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eawL6aJ2nBc
For all you snowflakes out there I do not mean this literally!
I’m expecting it to be week commencing 5th November, so expect fireworks!! Reckon we’ll have to have news prior, at least that’s what I expect to happen! LT
Hi all
Like TipTop, I attended the 2018 AGM and was pleased to make his re-acquaintance having met him a couple of years ago at a previous AGM.
Similarly, I was so unimpressed with our Board and the pretty obvious domination of the “quiet” man from Zubair who definitely looked to me to be the kind of guy that had his own, very singular, answer to all those pesky questions emanating from the “great un-washed Aminexers” which would involve a one-way trip into the Empty Quarter of the Arabian Desert!!!
The man from Zubair’s presence screamed as to exactly who was/is in charge of Aminex and who pulls the strings of the puppet, Jay Bhattarcharjee, himself so anodyne as to be almost invisible except for his bumbling and stuttering presentation(s) where he comes over as the embarrassing head of a now very embarrassing Company whose future is far from certain.
I used to hold 18 million Aminex but sold a pile at 4p and divested myself down to just 3 million following that now infamous AGM; my only regret being that I am left with 3 million but, hey ho, I guess there’s always the chance that this can come good ………. probably in a few years when I’ll be past caring!
Like TipTop, I wish all holders the very best including drewky whom I met at the AGM and Edgar whom I have crossed swords with on non-Aminex matters but who remains a trusted and honest poster in my humble – also, not forgetting Crusty who sure lives up to his epithet!!!

Rockets
Years ago I read an independent report that stated most of our licence contained oil at a level of up to 573,000 barrels per acre ............ just to impress that on everyone OVER 500,000 BARRELS PER ACRE!!!!!!!
Now, all of that would certainly not be recoverable but I wonder just how much would be!
Let's say 5% which would be 25,000 barrels at say $80 per barrel resulting in $2 million per acre!!
My garden is just 1/5th of an acre so I can get a reasonable picture of what an acre is and it is not that much!
Can someone remind me just how many acres our licences cover in newfie please?
mmmmmmmm - thinking it's many thousands!!!!!!
LT
Rockets - you make a very good point there as this change in regulatory direction WILL have a profound impact on our leases in newfie.
Can someone remind me of how many actual "producers" there are on mainland newfie as my recollection is that it's only us???
LT
Roy
Serious answer is that I would have to sell Aminex to do this and they are rising at the moment which means that I will wait to see how things pan out early next week.
Being a tidy sort of bloke I just wanted to get to a round figure of either 73 or 74 million but realise that will mean ending up with a non-round Aminex figure ........... you just can't win can ya????
LT
Wobwat
You are correct that the meeting will be between Alan, myself and one other.
The two of us were part of the three who met with Alan some 5 or 6 years ago and I believe that it is out of the memory of that and his general regard for how the meeting was conducted that Alan will meet with us as pretty significant shareholders although I have to say that I expect to learn nothing that is not already known but will be very interested in Alan's body language during the meeting.
For what it's worth, we all pretty well know that we are on the vinegar strokes of a negotiation that has the potential to quite quickly propel us into the lower levels of Footsie but with the possibility of getting into the higher echelons on completion of the many more deals that have been quite openly alluded to by the like of SB plus see seadog passim for his take on where this could ultimately take us.
LT
Hi all
As a significant holder here, no-one will be surprised that I keep in regular contact with NUOG, mainly along with another of the three musketeers that met with the Board many years ago now!
We are trying to set up a meeting with AM but, as usual, our diaries are proving the main obstruction in aligning a time when Alan is in London lining up with gaps in our own busy lives.
I am on holiday - again!!! - week commencing 22nd October so don't really see the meeting happening before week commencing 29th October when it's possible that the first news might be out IF the convergence of "mood music" I am hearing proves correct.
I shall use the opportunity of the meeting to ask Alan to be a tad more proactive in keeping shareholders appraised of our developing situation as I do feel that he is keeping his cards a little too close to his chest right now BUT probably for very good reasons!
I have great respect also for Simon's very difficult role and will probably copy him in on this post just to give him the "wink and nudge" that will ensure his support for the early meeting - perhaps I'll even go to Manchester now I've got my new(ish) car!!!!!
