On the back of these impressive numbers, the shares have gone up 2p which in a few days time will no doubt drop to

1p or knowing our luck, 0p - seen it all before.

IMO run by the best in the business supported by an experienced highly capable board, high quality personnel throughout the business, excellent supplier relations many going back decades, the list goes on... and here I am grateful that the shares creep up 2p?

Their main competitor are on their knees and there's now a realistic chance that they won't recover at all - everything points to LW and yet the shares remain flat. I just don't get it?

Nascan - that’s interesting as a senior figure at Head said to someone last week that the general feeling is that FS will succeed in getting their way.

Recent history has shown us that Head are clueless about most things so if they expect them to succeed, that means you’re more than likely correct that they won’t.

Yes I agree, they talk as if it’s a given but in reality, it’s far from it imo.

As Madtom quite rightly says - there is very little support or confidence from their target audience.

They fall into the trap of believing that by waving the white flag and admitting their mistakes, their core customer base are just going to return in their droves.

The other thing that’s not going to help them Is that their main competitor is going to be bigger and stronger by then as well! 😉

That is unbelievable - I would go as far as to say, if they’re going to stop trading with companies like Cormar, if there was any doubt left, any glimmer of hope, that confirms it.

The story is definitely getting worse but I don’t think it’s going to get better. I found out yesterday that they’re not dealing with Paragon, Forbo, Interface… that is absolutely unbelievable to put it mildly.

They no doubt will put their spin on it that they are as you say, cutting down their suppliers cutting down the amount of ranges they run and so on in reality, the suppliers are withdrawing their credit and if they don’t like it, they’ll stop dealing with them, which is what they’ve done here

Some bigger suppliers they can’t afford to not deal with so there’s that going on as well at the moment because they can’t agree to it but they can’t kick them out either either they’re stuck.

There’s no way out for them it’s over

I take that to mean that they are either buying another Business or it’s something to do with “ The other lot” By which I mean possible premises?

Whilst I know capacity is being increased, I personally don’t think they can cross the £200 mil mark without acquiring businesses or some serious sites - I don’t think they can do it without either.

You weren’t distracted at all, you were trying to re-invent the wheel when everybody around you and most of your customers were telling you it won’t work and not to do it.

They’re too far down this rabbit hole now to turn this around, something specific has just happened to them regarding one of their customers and that has put a massive spanner in the works.

There will be huge losses again on top of all the previous huge losses, more redundancies, More selling off property

I’ve got to say after watching it that my main criticism of them all along has been that they are not from the trade and don’t know what they’re doing - I saw nothing in that presentation to change my mind.

It’s all well and good saying that they’ve learnt from their mistakes, they haven’t served the independent retailer well they haven’t done this, they haven’t done that…why has it took them 4 years, circa £100 mil lost and about 10 properties closed or sold to realise that?

Most people who have been in the trade for years could see the writing on the wall from the start, it was so obvious to all of us, but they know best or so they believe 🤦🏻‍♂️

It stems from the top down and as a sidenote, just look at how the presentation was conducted - felt like he was reading a script and everything was forced, compare that to AJB who can talk easily because he knows the business inside out.

I said when LW was formed, they will be in the UK‘s number one absolutely no doubt about it and from what I’ve seen over the past four years and even today with their “new” plan, it doesn’t alter my opinion one bit.

I don’t think AJB will be too worried that’s for sure 😂

Everything has a price I suppose but it’s more than just a case of reshuffling or transforming coupled with a returning market - they don’t have the expertise at board level to sort this out as has been proven by the previous 5 updates…

They are on a downward trajectory whilst their main competitor is going from strength to strength, I personally think it’s gone too far and this is irreversible

Shares may go up briefly? Maybe there’s an increaee in business who knows? But I would have a hard time in investing my money in a company that is clearly run by clowns regardless of what the market might do?

I hear multiple stories from different sources at all levels from people who deal with them at a senior level and the decisions they make are absolutely laughable - a passer by in the street would probably make better, sound, logical decisions than these people seem to make

They’ve lost so much expertise half of it because the ship is sinking and people have got out before it does and half of it at their own doing because they seem to be getting rid of people every other week

I think the games up for them and deep down I think they know it - they’re just riding it out until they can get paid off, retire or whatever…?
