The supply boats can be alongside for days.
Even though they are big drill ships, this class have limited deck space and the supply vessels are used for storage at times too. A vessel can be alongside for a day or 2.

In this game I never rely wholly on times for a well.
Things can change so fast and can go either way.

A bit difficult to explain without a drawing.
If the riser is not down they use both top drives, one for drilling and the AUX for running casing in open hole.
If the BOP is down and riser connected to the rotary table they cannot use the AUX top drive for anything down hole. It has nothing to do with power but the position of AUX rotary and with it not being connected to the Riser.
Yes it is a dual activity rig but sometimes that does not help with certain failures in equipment.
Longest I have seen a top drive out of action for in 18 years was fixed in 2 days with a new service loop fitted.
So the info from this aces bar in my opinion is crap. Who are the boys anyway??

The Riser is connected to the main Rotary using that top drive which I do not think or have ever seen swapped while connected.
They would have to swap top drives which would be a major job.
I think one to many in Aces bar anyway!!

Someone asked if the size of the flare during tests gives any indication of the flow rates etc. It can to a certain extent but usually choked back a fair bit depending on whether they are happy to heat up the rig or not. Years a go at the Beryl field we hit a pretty big gas well and the choke at the well test area was never more than half open. So I would say no to the question. GLA

There is rumours of building a dock etc in George as the supply boats all run back and fore to Trinidad which takes a few days either way. I would say Exxon will buy out these guys as their major discovery is only around 12 miles from Jethro1. We prove up the wells and it only takes a few lines to connect to Exxon FPSO's. This could just be a 'I would like my palm crossed with some silver'.
