Yep. Back down at its all-time low. Mcap now significantly below the company's stated NAV so there can't be much further to fall ... surely? But assets are only valuable if you can either expoit them or sell them and GDP haven't shown any ability to do either. What next? Cash call/placement? If November figures are bad then I think it will be time to cut my losses whatever the price is by then and stop suffering this death by 1000 cuts.
Looks like the market doesn't know what to make of it...or more likely doesn't care enough. I don't think the bid has shifted at all from 3.75 through this. It's a sad reflection that I'm just feeling thankful it wasn't taken as a reason for a new step change downward. This company is simply off the radar until something more significant happens such a a demonstrable sustained return to profitability and/or farm out/sale of Kili. But both of these things are actually quite likely and I can see us ticking up after the November results and hopefully stronger through 2015. But that's what I thought about 2014 :( At least I own AEG :)
Wow GDP showing blue! Then I realised the offer had just gone back to its usual parking spot. I find myself wishing this share would just *do* something ... then again, history shows that when it does it usually just goes down some more. Short of an unexpected announcement re Kilimapesa, it's hard to see any catalyst for action before the preliminary results in November. I may have died of boredom by then.
Thanks SEA. I had fondly hoped L2 would be more informative than it seems to be ... well, at least for less liquid shares like GDP.
[I tried asking this question in the premium general chat forum but it seems dead in there so will try here. It seems maybe L2 console is not quite as useful as I thought it would be ...] Brand new to L2 console and struggling to understand the pricings. For example, I look at GDP and bid/offer is always in multiples of 0.25p. Best bid is 3.75p at time of writing. But when I do a test trade with my online broker I am offered 3.81p to sell. So where is the 3.81p coming from exactly and why is it not visible on L2 console?
Nick... already in your group (this is Mike) :)
DB has increased his holding by a mere 0.08% ... and in doing so maybe helped move the price +4% for a tasty +£1.6M gain. Must be nice to be rich :)
OK maybe being a bit harsh on myself. Clearly I don't know much about gold recovery in Africa (like most on here I expect) but I did apply what I considered to be due diligence. Read up what I could about the company and noted its respectable (if somewhat up-down) performance in the previous years. Everything was positive and it looked like it was due a leg up. So, yes, I over-enthuiastically over-committed initally and subsequently made the rookie mistake of averaging down each time there was a new 'mad bottom'. Greedy if you will. Lessons learned. But hey, this might yet come good and my average (7.8p) is a hell of a lot lower than it used to be (~12p) so, fingers crossed, only an (achievable) 108% rise needed and I'm in the black. In any case ... first world problem... it'll hurt but I won't go hungry if this goes to zero.
Seconded. While at this moment I wish I'd got out when my loss was more managable (or never heard of the company) I now feel trapped for the long haul and somewhat out of my depth with over 1M shares in something I really don't know enough about. If Nick can help pull this around then I'll be nominating him for a CBE... hell, a knighthood.
Mike, I wish I could. The best I can manage is that their market cap is now so low that it is less than their reported assets with no debt. But that's how I convinced myself to stay in at 5p :(

A report is up on GDP's website now. Only skimmed it ... looks like a re-hash of the previous one with old news re-reported. Nothing exciting leaps out, but nothing alarming either hence the muted response on the SP. At least it's up its usual 0.25p rather than down. That'll probably come tomorrow when the excitement's worn off :) http://www.goldplat.com/media
"Less than half hour to the call..." My apologies if I missed the information but, do we know who is on this call and whether it will be publically minuted/reported? Anyone from here involved?
Anyone remember when an SP of 5p was speculated on here as an unlikely "mad bottom" ... sigh. <sob_story> This was probably my best-researched share purchase ever. Practically a no-brainer. Couldn't lose. I bought (originally ~12p) in a quantity that (with hindsight) was not sensible for such a small company. Subsequent top-ups at various "mad bottoms" have just made things worse. A rookie thing to do, eh? </sob_story> What a costly POS this has turned out to be :(
Is this share suspended in some way? I can't get an online quote through my stock broker (Youinvest) or spread betting co (IG). Haven't tried phoning anyone.
From memory, the rollover charge equates to an annualised rate of 2.5% + base rate so 3%pa on the position held or .0082% per day. Hardly noticable tbh and quite a cheap way to borrow money to gamble with (whether or not that's a sensible thing to do is another discusssion). Plus no dealing charges or capital gains tax on the huge profits to be had here :)
Not strictly true about dividends & spread betting. Certainly with IG a daily financed bet effectively gets paid any dividends (or ~90% of them) as an overnight price adjustment. Conversely you lose the dividend value if short. Bets on quarterly futures don't gain/pay any dividends as that is assumed to already be accounted for in the calculated future price. If that wasn't the case people would simply short a stock just before ex-div.
http://www.investegate.co.uk/frontier-dev-plc/rns/extension-to-publisher-development-agreement/201405190700294346H/ has prompted me to "average up" from my original £2.36 investment bringing my average to £2.52. This is one of those few shares bought partly for sentimental reasons and which I'll probably never sell ... maybe it will make my kids millionaires one day :)
My first post on LSE so be gentle with me :) Just an observation that the sea of red 'sells' showing here may not be entirely accurate. At least, the 236p trade @ 12:28 today was most definitely a buy as it was me dipping my toe. GLA
