Could be the new very experienced NEDs have sort clarification on where the company stands in terms of revenue build and have insisted on this revised guidance ( or lack of) as there really is not much but wishful thinking behind the big jump to cash flow breakeven CY2025 threat they have stuck with …who knows.but they have certainly teed it up to be disappointing on gen 1when they do finally understand in my view.

That does not necessarily have any impact on gen 2 though or getting a display partner/customer/licence but you cant really value much in here until its nailed on..the transformation to a commercial producer rather than an r&d company seems to have been somewhat short lived…but the cost base still reflects the misplaced optimism !

On the blurb on the recently introduced sensors that state they will be in production for at least 10 years i believe..to reassure end users on continuity of supply..maybe that is why they may not want to introduce key products with lead based materials? But the regulatory backdrop has hardly shifted in the past few months has it?

The NEDs will be given the rns statements for feedback but this is an operational matter..im sure they have far more detail on why the statement was made and approved the downbeat tone..which is a bit of a first. I note neither has been tempted to buy any shares since appointment ..perhaps them doing so might be a sign.

NEDs cannot be incentivised through shares but are encouraged to make investments in the companies on which the serve on the board. Both are multi millionaires.

On Bagherli ..its disappointing that it is shown incorrectly but there it is.

No date of appointment either.

He was recently appointed Co-Chair of the UK Semiconductor Advisory Panel not Nanoco..and if he had been made co chair that would have been a regulatory matter to inform shareholders.

Little errors and big errors ..don’t reflect well.

I just hope the newly installed Ned’s are watching events closely and try to work out what needs to be done to restore some shareholder confidence. I also think they need to fast track the appointment of a new Chair , which being independent role should bring new vision to the company is essential.

I note on Nanoco web site that Mr Bagherli is shown as co-chair of the company..this is not the case and a mistake.he would make a great operational ex chair but does not have listed company experience as far as i can see..

Not much of the optimism with the update though and again was never guided to current financial year ..one has to think certainly nothing before the end of this month on display ..so that’s 4 of the six months gone.

They definitely talk of further orders before CY end not FY end so the warning is odd in that context.

I thought I had seen /heard six months..but it is worth listening to the management video again in the cold light of day. This went out with the Edison note a few weeks ago , thought seems to have been recorded pre tender..it was the first time it was available and poor that it came out so soon to a poor trading update.

100% Nanonano ..almost all debate has been around possibilities not certainties .it was only at the time of the interims did to company refine guidance from what clearly pointed to and end device to unlikely to yet being in commercial use..sort of begs the question of what a commercial order rather than a sample for r & d evaluation might be?

Anyway being wise after the event with the benefit of hindsight is not being wise at all. When Nige has attempted at anything like an original thought it is invariably very wrong as demonstrated.

Do your own research and don’t rely on what the company and ceo puffs up …don’t do your own research to better understand the growth prospects but rely on what the company says ..

He’s a nasty piece of work who is totally clueless about markets and listed company continuing obligations…they also can’t stick to even their own misguided view after they are proved wrong…similar way Nanoco seem to forget what they guide to after it proves to be far too optimistic.

It's part of any CEO's job to present their company in the best light. You shouldn't take any puff literally and you should think for yourselves.

You are basically saying you can’t trust the ceo and their “puff” may be misleading.

So agreeing with the many you say are idiots for questioning the company comms.

But you also say trust the company and its guidance.

A CEO’s role is to create shareholder value and give an open a realistic presentation of trading and prospects ..simple.

Their job is not to “ puff” to their shareholders and not be believable for markets in being able to form an investment opinion. What utter rot.

Nanocos comms are like Swiss cheese…some are happy to believe anything even when it leads to disappointment over and over again.

I came back in for the perceived risk/reward from their latest narrative spun pre tender of building gen1 revenues to CF breakeven in CY2025 ..that would have had to be significant revenues demonstrating real traction and was based on STM telling them to expect further orders that justified that confidence ..i am already seeing the risk art of the equation even though i thought Cy2025 was optimistic …..now it appears to have been an inappropriate target built on sand.

Some of those patents now belong to Samsung…no idea which ones. What a waste of time.

I’m not saying I know at all ..but sending dots off to make a film then sent back to test doesn’t seem to be saving much time at all.

Testing in a non film way I can’t see can offer anything useful.

Nanoco being given the STM IP and wherewithal to produce the film themselves I would be surprised if a company like STM would ..Nanoco know why!!

I genuinely am sure there’s a simple answer but can’t think what it is to be able to effectively test materials on wafers produced at Runcorn. Also you would think the customer would want to control the testing themselves.

But we have a FAB and I’m sure it’s fab.

This has been posted many times and in no way is intended to be seen as new news..the point of putting this up again is that it explains the nature of the proprietary process that STM use to produce their quantum film to incorporate on SWIR sensors.Nanoco must be doing the spin coating in their facility to be able to test their recipes I guess?
