Ciga is uk distributor for both Wondfo (one of china's largest lf companies with decent track record) and Hangzhou Alltest so could be either but both Chinese tests so unlikely a sovereign test......
Ciga don't do technical manufacture , this is another rebadged foreign test that js just packed in UK

Serologic tests yielding qualitative or semi-quantitative results have been issued EUAs; there currently is no recognized public health or clinical indication for preferential use of semi-quantitative tests.

What is the role of testing in the COVID-19 pandemic? - Kemri
Until an acceptable cut off level is defined, I cannot see Ab testing moving to point of care in the near term, all of the work being done currently in the UK and elsewhere is fully quantitative assays ro build a better understanding of what different Ab levels actually mean, as of today there it is still not clear understanding of what your antibody level means in terms of protection or impact on infectiousness. Until that is defined you cannot set a true cut off level for a Qualitative assay and so apart for the general surveillance studies looking prevalence which does not really need a cut off, all other tenders are likely to be for lab based quantitative tests
The UK sites isn't really manufacture either, the technical manufacture is down in China, it is justbthe finished cassettes, poaching and kitting hhat is done in UK and elsewhere, so in reality not high technical jobs but essentially low skilled packing jobs just so they can say it is a UK manufactured product
Do we actually know they are continuing to manufacture???

BigJock, I am not trying to scaremonger, I agree testing will be around for a long time, i am just highlighting that at least in one of the biggest markets, the peak level of testing looks to have passed, with one of the biggest suppliers of LFT in the world communicating that they are seeing a significant drop in demand in one of the largest markets in the world.
I believe that Omega are much more than Covid company and have a strong future ahead with the strong portfolio of products and the future assays which they have stated that are in development are aligned with the same markets as Cd4.
I do believe that the UK government has led a lot of UK diagnostic companies along a garden path in terms of the "soverign test" and by giving away free Inova tests, they have essentially wiped out any large scale domestic covid-19 market and that there is still risk around what the "sovereign test" may actually deliver for Omega, but the investment and skills developed from that work will put Omega in a good place to drive the business forward in the future.
Trust, you are being selectiove, the next paragraph continues
"However, the success rates of today’s vaccines have led many to forgo testing altogether. Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention put out new guidelines for fully vaccinated people, saying they can refrain from routine testing or screening before traveling—and go as far as skipping the swabs entirely, even after being exposed to an asymptomatic person with COVID-19, in some situations.
With a return to normalcy potentially happening sooner than expected, Abbott is cutting some of its budget projections for the remainder of this year, back to something more in line with pre-pandemic levels. And it's not just the top line—the company is also looking to roll back R&D investment plans and shrink its diagnostic manufacturing base by making cuts at U.S. production facilities."
Later in the article "But over the past several weeks, the company has seen a sharp decline in demand for COVID tests, and particularly for its rapid-result diagnostics, Ford said, as the number of daily new coronavirus cases has dropped by more than 60%." e.g their LFTs
Interesting article which is indicating significant drop in rapid test demand in the US

Hughes test is also a Chinese manufactured test
I can't see it being announced before May 6th due to purdah
Could the lack of news on the selection of the next sovereign test be related to the fact we are in a period of Purdah due to the upcoming elections?
