The decision is easy, hang on to the shares if your company can pay the tax in the short term. I would not want to sell now. Who knows though what the SP will be by the end of March.

I have a feeling that you mean you will sell enough shares to repay the 60k. At current Sp that is 150k shares that originally cost circa 8p, so a gain of 150k at 32p = £48k gain.

As I sit here comfortably off with my 3/3p average buy in I feel it is incumbent upon me to try to assist those who are under water or who are relatively recent & feel we are just about treading water. I recommend you take a look at the share chart page here & select the 2 year option. That will show you a 12 month period Jan 2017/Jan 2018 where nothing was happening ( with crap timing I commenced my 1m T20 exercise in April 2017 or thereabouts ). Boy it was frustrating but the shareholders had faith no one really wavered. It is my opinion that your wait for financial salvation will be much shorter, stay cool, stay calm & fcuk the shorters & trolls.

Alfa I sold 50k at the bell for 40.155 shown as a buy . I also sold 50k early doors at 38.9 also shown as a buy next to a NickD buy at 39

Just back from Salford Royal visitation. I am conscious of not wanting to clog this board with health issues but a number of you have shown a clear interest in her progress so here I am. Her care is brilliant & this afternoon we were told they are ready to move her from the intensive care unit to high dependency. She is not out of the woods yet but is doing very well, it really has made me face our mortality. She was well enough today to ask how Bushy was doing, she has a spending spree in mind in a few weeks.

I have been racking my brains for weeks now. The continual buy bias & no SP appreciation makes no sense, neither does the apparent MM share shortfall. How about a very large seller, I mean very large with a minimum price. The Mm's have a conflict, they want volume that is how they earn their corn & they have a duty of care to the vendor??? that might well seem laughable. So to marry the two they have to find the maximum price not to dampen buying enthusiasm hence a consistent range of 38-40.

Given my suspicions I will call you Squid for now, far more unpleasant.

GGGgareth sorry for late reply but you may have seen I have been otherwise occupied. My purchase /sales via T20's have indeed complicated my CGT but it has been incredibly beneficial. It is actually a good example of what I said in my reply to Rob67. Because I have reacquired within 30 days my sale matches that new purchase & avoids the CGT on a large figure given my non T20 pot has an average cost of 3.3p. Selling 1m a month would be crippling without the matching rule. In fact I would not do it as I would be realising a large gain with no cash-----terrible.

Very interesting question YTSS, we don't know & they will not tell us yet. Liz signed up for a trial whereby they monitor patients recovery & the way they react in rehab. They want to start a study to see if one is better than the other so they need "blind" triallists. There will be follow up with at least 3 monthly questionnaires.

Daddybigbucks sorry for the late response. I have been at Salford Royal, simply unbelievable. After 9 hours surgery yesterday they have had Liz walking up the corridor ( assisted obviously) at 1pm today. Just wow. Tough weeks ahead but she has walked 17k steps every day in the lead up to the op so she is in bloody good shape.

Re your question it does not matter a jot where the cash resides it is the act of selling that triggers any CGT.

The biggest CGT complication is the same day, 30 day rule. Many of us will want to realise £11k of gains in March as tax free. However beware if you buy shares back within 30 days the sale is matched with that repurchase not the original purchase thus negating the gain.
