Russia could have been one of the richest, most powerful countries. They have the resources. But instead of improving quality of life, investing in the country, the oligarchs stole trillions and parked it all in NATO countries. The irony is delicious. I've been to Russia. Barely running water in a lot of places. Roads ripped up because they can't maintain them. No infrastructure investment at all other than a bridge to an illegally seized territory that is not blown up. We are fortunate the guys running Mordor are so greedy and focused on stealing that they never bothered to invest in their country or military.
