Progress to First Commercial Operation

· Contract announced for initial engineering programme for first DMG application enacted by W2T.

· Contracts were signed introducing Peel into the development at a site on Peel's Protos Energy Park in Cheshire as a waste plastic processing facility generating electricity and hydrogen.

The University of Chester’s Energy Centre at Thornton Science Park is working with PowerHouse Energy to ‘turn off the plastic tap into the ocean’ to ultimately clean it up. The innovative technology turns waste plastic into electricity and low-cost hydrogen, which can be used for transport fuel. The process takes all mixed waste plastic in an untreated unsorted contaminated form and requires no sorting or washing. This ground breaking technology has the potential to not only create a green fuel but to clean up plastic from the world’s oceans.

Unsorted and unwashed plastic is cut into two-inch (5cm) long strips.
Plastics are then melted in sealed glass rotating kiln at 1,000°C.
Gases produced during this process, are then converted into energy.

Some in UK only separate the tins from the plastic, then bail the plastic for onward transit on 44 ton trucks.

Some councils use 12 ton daff trucks for collecting mixed waste sorted by the loaders........
Some council trucks 26 tonners only collect waste plastic...........
Some of the 26 tonners have rear steering making the round faster......

If some of Liverpool's council waste trucks were ran on hydrogen could tip at Protos site and refuel ready for the next days work.
