look at the end of the day thompson was the one who walked away from an agreement to work with the CWU to take the company forward just after 5 - 6 months , and at the same time they have been railroading unagreed changes and different ways of working in offices by EA which will never work and just create a worse service and failures than it is now , and i have never known a ceo to insult the full workforce like he has , so how are the staff and the CWU to blame ? and if strikes are the only way to fight back then so be it .
just for your interest simon thompson isnt ceo of gls , the company are paying some other bloke to do that .

offer ? , its more of an insult ,than the last offer by them , let them run down the clock at the end of the day we will be out thursday and friday etc , and if the company want to walk away from talks let them get on with it , at the end of the day thompson is wasting shareholders money and not his money and by the way whats the next divi hes paying ? so if it means posties running the company into the ground so be it , and remember when thompson has tried to do what he wanted and failed he will walk away and move somewhere else , leaving the **** show for someone else to try and recover .

cutting staff ? , lol , you cant cut the staff anymore as most offices cant do the job now due to not enough staff , and the office i work in has at least 18 vacancies .

hi can anybody help as i see there was a dividend payout on the 6th September , i bought some on the 29th July but there is no dividend payment in my account or been paid into bank , so have i done something wrong and missed the cut off or summat , thanks
yes our office was a complete joke yesterday , and with there plan saying no overtime will be paid , so everybody finish on time but the amount of parcels and pkts that wasn't even touched as posties didn't have the time or scope to deliver 2 dutys worth of parcels / pkts ( impossible ) , ive never seen the office as bad even at christmas , so Monday will be a laugh with what was left from yesterday ( full dutys parcels ) 2 days worth of mail and tomorrows parcels / pkts , but never mind we all have a finish time .
i love to read all the negative comments about posties and the CWU but if you don't or haven't worked in RMG then you don't know anything apart from you read in papers or see on the internet and what staff are up against everyday with workloads , b&h , and the CWU have always worked with RMG and AGREED to any changes which there has been a lot over the years pdas , single day delivery etc , until now this new ceo has come in and have no interest to work by the 4 pillars agreement which we have which include the use of pdas , culture change , ways of working and more , and his only plan is to cut staff and not give anybody a better service or any interest in the company .
1 day strikes ? I think it will be a lot more than that per week , and as for overtime to clear the back log of stuff , I don't think so work to rule .
who are you telling to shut the f up mate ? I work hard for my money and if they offered me enough I would go tomorrow no hesitation but I would be an idiot to walk away with nothing wouldn't I ?
jonjo your right and the cwu have been trying to sort all the issues out and come to an agreement for 18 months , but rm aren't interested as they just want to strip the company down to the bones and destroy it , then the people at the top will just walk away and go somewhere else , its not all about the £375 lump sum as a pay rise as the company keeps mentioning. I think the staff realise they are going to lose money but they have spoken with a yes vote.
jonjo do you work for the company ? if you do then you should know why it came to a strike , if you don't then you don't have a clue what goes on everyday in d/o and mail centres , and just to make you aware if you haven't seen it already the cwu have been talking for 18 months over these issues with royal mail and the ceo hasn't been to one meeting so 23% pay rise , 1.9m a year wages and all this is public knowledge.
