Can deep thinking make it happen? Not sure we can make oil suddenly appear but what you might find is clarity of thought, rather than blind panic.
Think about this; DW's business rationale includes this, regarding failure. "If you are going to fail, Fail Fast".
Meaning, if you know something has failed or is not what you expected, spit it out & move on.
My thoughts regarding Charlie & in particular the HRZ are; if those core samples & other data that has been retrieved during the drill, are not what they were expecting, don't waste time lokking for something that isn't there if it is obviously not present.
IMHO, DW would have pulled the plug on this within a couple of weeks if they hadn't found what they had expected. The longer we wait for the outcome, the more positive & positively price sensitve the announcement will be.
I might be totally barking up the wrong tree but I believe he would not keep the shareholders waiting regarding HRZ if it was another pig. Why would he? The SP is in limbo, the world is in limbo. What's another bit of bad news in the Big Picture?
Stay Safe, Sane & Well Everyone. Not too much longer to wait!

I really love your energy & renewed enthusiam mate.
Phrontistery finds its origin in the ancient Greek word phrontisterion, meaning a thinking shop. The Greek word phrontist applies to a philosopher, a deep thinker or someone with intellectual pretension, and the verb phrontizein means to reflect. ... It can also mean a place for thinking, contemplating, or studying.

I don't regard you as petulant at all my brother in paperloss. Again, like Boris, DW can only be advised & follow the science. This company of ours has not got the deep pockets like Conoco et al.
Our sadly missed oil exploration guru, Paul Basinki was prevalent in the discovery of the Eagle Ford shale play, in Texas.
That project took a few more than 4 exploration drills to firm it up.
If Paul had still been with us & driving the exploration of IceWine, would we have scored a hole-in-one?
Who knows!
FYI regarding Eagle Ford & something to peruse:

It is considered to be the "source rock", or the original source of hydrocarbons that are contained in the Austin Chalk above it. The formation was penetrated many times as operators targeted the Edwards Limestone formation along the Edwards Reef Trend.
The formation is best known for producing variable amounts of dry gas, wet gas, NGLs, condensate and oil. The most active area lies above the Edwards Reef Trend where the formation yields a gas-condensate production stream. Unlike many other shale plays, it does not exhibit natural fracturing within the formation.
Paul Basinski, a well-known expert in unconventional resource geology and geophysics. Paul's unique career included corporate assignments at Chevron, Kerr McGee, and many years at ConocoPhillips. Paul led a team at COP that discovered and developed the volatile-oil play in the South Texas Eagle Ford Shale.
Enjoy the read & good luck SeeVee, like the rest of us

I feel your pain, we all feel your pain.
SeeVee, I suppose you blame the woes of the UK on Boris?
DW is the MD of 88e. He is not a geologist & he is not all roles 88e, but he is a businessman, first & foremost.
Premier Oil Company are a grown-up set of guys & made their decisions to farm in with 88e on Charlie 1, based on facts. They even changed the original drill location. Will we ever know what would have been found 2.5 miles away, where 88e had determined the point of entry?
DW didn’t talk them into anything, they knew what they were buying into, knew the risks & came in on teir terms.
That’s the Oil Industry for you.
DW didn’t take your money either, you chose to invest in 88e, not DW & you knew the risks.
Easy to blame 1 guy & yes, a few weeks back even I posted that it was perhaps time for a change at the top, suggesting Dougal James Ferguson, of XCD as Managing Director.
It maybe time to freshen it up now that 88e have bought out XCD.
Who knows?
Times are hard for everyone & life can be a *****.

Ecuagold, you may have hit the nail on the head. I believe in DW but reputation & performance is what hungry investors will follow.
It may be the right time for DW to make a move sideways & perhaps make way for DF of XCD.
Really don't know what would be best but we do need to see something different. IMHO.

Are we on the same sheet on that one?
I believe I have listened to the following, with DW talking about Charlie.
On the Vox Markets Podcast Today: 14th May 2020
Dave Wall, Managing Directors of 88 Energy #88E talks about their merger and progress at their Charlie-1 well.
(Interview starts at 18 minutes 26 seconds)

Just listened again to this link (above) & it is the same. Not sure where 2016 & Icewine came into it.

Not sure DW is pointing any fingers, but at what stage was the location changed.
Before or after Farm-out?
If it was before FO, then 88e called the change, but post FO, would we be wrong to assume PMO had the call, as it was their $23m paying for the drill?
Will we ever know?

Hi Flex, like you, I have listened intently a couple of times, which I really do suggest that other Board brethren should do.
https://audioboom.com/posts/7581998-totally-dev-clever-holdings-88-energy-and-chris-bailey
A couple of interesting points in the main portion of the podcast.
At 20:35 DW mentions the change of drill location by PMO against the original & preferred 88e drill location.
At 22:20 he mentions the Oil, Condensate, Gas scenario.
For me, the Prime Information came in the Summing Up, at & beyond 29:00.
I also read on here a couple of days back the lease numbers of the original (88e preferred) location & the PMO actual location.
Is anyone able to calculate how far apart these locations actually were & in what direction?
This could have been the difference between phases mentioned at 22:20 above.
Who knows?
Good Luck to all Campaigners

HM 13:22
Exactly HM, I also, cannot recall DW ever using the word "Promise" regarding any potential Farm-out Partner at any tier level. Why would he?
What we have learnt, however, are the reasons & rationale why a Tier 1 would not have been a good "Fit" for 88e.
Just my opinion also.

This has been the case since Icewine #1 when we suddenly had over 400k acres.
He, DW & his team, never cease to surprise (not always to our advantage) but what we can be sure with him is that he will not roll over until he has explored every opportunity. I agree that things are dire right now but as we have seen in the past few weeks when the dark clouds roll in, he certainly knows where to look for shafts of light & opportunities.
No point sitting on your death bed wishing or asking yourself "What If?"
He gives it his absolute best shots, not always successfully but we have him on our side.
Eulogy over.
