RE: There is a small nagging doubt about that placing.1 Jun 2023 23:40
First, it's not 'making a couple of hundred pounds', it's increasing the shares by 6% which, going forward, might be worth more than Β£200 (and it was more than that but we'll let the maths pass).
second, what law exists that says, if you're watching the trades and they stop moving in a certain direction tht one isn't allowed to get back in? i sit there, watching the trades go through and, while the sp is falling i hold off buying, just like you would hold off selling if the sp is rising, until the sp stalls.
there is zero virtue in holding for the sake of holding. noone is obliged to keep only their original stake. presumably folk here bought on the placing drop? was that 'unethical' if you didn't believe it was going to drop? or is it just folk dropping their average in the hope of making more money?
there's a piety in holders who take no action but just hold where they think they hold the moral high ground. but do you chastise yourself for stating, endlessly, tat the sp is only going to rise... and rise... and rise, dragging others in to buy at he higher price so you feel better about your holding?
folk shouldn't moralise on being lth or ramper just because they hold. that's as thin ice as anyone calling a drop. but if you can't see
i try to call what i see in front of me, but on shorter term than maybe you do? and, even while i'm in, i accept that there might be no news tomorrow or bad news as well as possibly good. there are no bruci bonuses for only talking about 'golden tickets' and 'feeling sure' there's good news a-coming as opinions aren't research.
