I think the oil in Alaska is light sweet crude so may get a small premium on the Brent price

An adjacent field was sold for $3.10 per barrel of oil in the ground when oil was at $40 per barrel. It’s now approx $65 per barrel so logic would make any field sold worth at least $4.80 a barrel in the ground. Multiply our potential find by that amount.

Rns says approximately 10 days, so I’m thinking Thursday for news.

My opinion is that rigs cost a lot of money per day to have them sitting around, they wouldn’t do it unless a) they are confident of a massive find and want to make absolutely sure, and b) they will need it for production. If the news was bad they would have demobilised by now.

Ask yourself the question if normal logging takes a few days why have have the rig sat there for up 10, seems there’s more to this than meets the eye
