It was over a year ago now that Mike said the famous words, Q1 2018. Then changed to Q2, Q3 and then a it will be in stores for Q4. Now it is some time in 2019. Who knows maybe, would be good if a display comes out this year ahead of extended schedule. Reality it might be some way away. Who knows. All guessing.
I understand this. Cadmium in automotive and light bulbs. We have seen the news of possible recall over vw veichles. Display has been long over due. Why the two extension so far. What was the argument to extend and will it be used again? I also recall China was putting place a cadmium ban similar to rohs
Short term will be the rohs enforment or extension. Honestly I can see it being extended. If nano are not making any real sales and they label themselves as no1 signs that multiple oems will not be ready for 11-12 months time. Extension highly likely, just like the time before and the time before that. If signs of Dow in production start soon then great sign. If not let’s hope it is Apple. Any news on Trevista?
Yeah in the past. Apple are not as good as they used to be. They stopped the 17" macbook pro's they stopped matt screens. Overheating gpu's, screen ghosting. Just a brand for rich kids to facebook.
Apple even stopped making thunderbolt display. Now pushing LG UltraFine 5K thunderbolt displays.
Anyway I thought it was automotive, how has this changed to iphones and ipads.
So any news on a rohs extension? Or is the outright ban still coming to force in 12 months.
philips did have a connection with nanoco at one point. The qd displays they currently have out are provided by Samsung. Samsung is Samsung. TCL and Hisense also have qd displays. Lg invested in Nanosys and also will have a 20" cad free out next year. The big issue is Mike stated they were working with 13 oems and since gone quiet on the matter. This is the big problem. so 2019 is a all (the 13 or less are back in play) or nothing year and the extension granted.
NW I love you, you are the best, the quotes you say are amazing. So your latest post you say
"All the jumping in and out and trying to call the bottom or the top are hallmarks of amateur investors. "
And a quote from you from july last year
"I'm don't often jump in and out of any stock but I've lost money here since I bought at the wrong time, which was entirely down to my own misjudgment."
The sp sank to 30p It was 48p 7 weeks ago. Anyway your boring. patent this and that. Fake apple news like the tweets and paid advertising banners.
Back to real world.
So far qdot displays
Samsung, philips, tcl and Hisense, lg cad free 20" monitor next year. Possible asus/acer monitor with nanoco.

Philips will sell next year curved non qd monitors using samsung panels.
I believe philips are using samsung nanosys qd panels
Nanoco used to have a connection with philips either gone or still with us.
Looks like nanosys are leading the way with oems and might be ready in case ban is enforced.
Lg recently bought into nanosys.
