On long reflection, whilst I would like to have seen more happen I think other than Belco it has been a wise strategy in hindsight.
Let's say we had gone full hog and set up a battery facility. It would have taken far more resources, but critically the market wouldn't have been ready.
Going down the electrolyte route has allowed us to make a shippable commodity and exploit demand in whichever market has the strongest VRFB demand.
We let someone else do the hardwork selling the battery, dealing with client, dealing with various factory's etc.. (all resources intensive) we come along with the vital commodity and make a decent amount from the most critical part!
The technology and uptake is all changing rapidly, which again will be resource heavy. All we are doing is providing the most critical part.
There will be VRFB manufacturers galore soon. But I don't think there will be electrolyte manufacturers 10 a penny.
