Arguably one of the smartest financiers in the game today, Warren Buffett continues to make his case for investing in renewable energy. His company, Berkshire Hathaway, will spend $15 billion to construct wind and solar power projects in the US adding to its previous investment of $8 billion in wind and $5 billion in solar.
In Berkshire Hathaway’s subsidiary, Berkshire Hathaway Energy, nearly 25% of the energy generated is from renewables. Even the retail supergiant Walmart has agreed to switch to 100% of renewable energy by 2020 from its current 20%. However, when Buffett throws his hat in a ring – take note. He isn’t known for missing a good opportunity.
