They are currently advertising for staff at new stores in Brighton and Southampton.

Look at the date. It was from 25 JUNE. Why its taken nearly 3 months to inform the market however.....

You also have to consider that in all likellihood very few of us posting here are in their 18-24 demographic so not really in a position to comment on the trends that apply. Their own brand might well seem "chavvy" to a middle aged professional working in accounts lol.

Rahan, I think you are right in that some of the stores are small and cramped, and Ive been in a few, I think that is why they have taken the decision to upsize a lot of them. But bear in mind some locations dont warrant a big floor space. Ive also been in some of their larger stores. They have just opened a new large "experience" store in the Trafford Centre for example which looks great, so hopefully will be a template for future rollouts, I think making a judgement about the product range being old fashioned is something few will agree with though I;d have thought, I'd say its the exact opposite, although this is largely subjective.

The more i look into that trading uodate the more i think its a blip. Largely due to not getting the stock levels right resulting in heavier discounting than expect squeezing margins. Get that sorted for the new season and i think its looking good. Revenues still growing at a fast pace and way above sector averages. Revenus have doubked in a coulle of years and profit was increasing year and year until this half year. And even then its still 6m profit. Investment in new stores and upsizing also affecting profit. That's no bad thing when they are in the middle of an aggressive roll out of new stores. They have double the amount of stores they had 3 years ago, 5 more due to open by Christmas. Adding in the spend on infrastructure with a second brand new warehouse and investment in online technology, they are plackng themselves for future growth. In the currebt environment that's no mean feat. Hardly a company in trouble.

Manchester Arndale store was busy today. Its in a real prime location. Also looks like one of the stores they are upsizing as they have just taken on the empty unit next door too.
