Morning all.
Asian mrkts are trading mostly lower today following the lack of any major news from global markets which were closed for Good Friday.
Europe will be closed today for the Easter Bank Holiday though NY will open later on.
In China gains were seen after domestic data showed the manufacturers purchasing index expanded in March for the first time since Sept. The Shanghai Composite was up 31 at mid'day and the junior Shenzen ahead by 40.
Japan is trading much lower today after opening up strongly currently the 225 is off 473 after nearly 700 lower earlier due to weak domestic economic data & business confidence falling for the first time in a year as factory activity contracted for the 10th straight month. Equities suffered losses across the board led by industrials and financials.
Elsewhere S.Korea, KL and Singapore trade better while Indonesia and Taiwan are both in the red. Hong-Kong and NZ are closed for Easter.
Gold closed earlier at near record highs solidly above $2220 and continues to push ahead as Central Banks reduce their holdings of US Treasuries while simultaneously increasing their percentage of reserves allocated to gold.

After climbing more than 100 the Dow ended the session off 31 as sellers knocked 100 off the index in the last hour as all eyes were on the Nsdq mrkt debut of Donald Trump's Media & Technology Group.
They did not disapoint surging 59% on their first day, providing him with a windfall as he grapples with huge legal and campaign costs. At session high of $79 TMTG was valued at $10bn on an undiluted basis and for a company reporting an operating loss for the first 9 months of $10•6m on revenues of $3•4m it was an 'otherworldly' valuation.
Closing at $58 his majority stake is valued at $6bn though 'lock up' restrictions prevent him from selling or borrowing against his stock for 6 months (unless he gets a waiver from his pals on the board). Never bet against America eh?
Morning all.
Hi WOE I'm in no hurry to top up having more than my fill since August last. I may get lucky sub 750 but I'm not counting on it.
Hope the next set of results put some 'welly' into the share price as nothing is working at the moment.
Walls' main indexes eased at the start of of the holiday shortened week ahead of key inflation data due later. Both the 500 and Dow logged their best % weekly gains this year as the Fed sticks to its 3 rate cuts starting in June. Final estimates for 4Q GDP and consumer confidence nos are also due in the next few days.
On companies Boeing stole the headlines after a management shake sent CEO Calhoun on his way. He will leave Boeing at the end of the year. He became too accident prone for Wall St's liking. A litany of bungling safety issues and 2 catastrophic plane crashes under his watch did for him.
Overall stocks maintained a largely negative bias the 3 major indexes all closed lower on the day. Disney and Boeing topped the 30 while 3M and Intel propped up the laggards.
A lower USD and higher crude prices sent Gold higher yesterday as 'chart' technicals
supported the rises amid continuing China and central Bank buying.

Morning all.
A lot more interest today than usual though no real appreciation in the share price not that anyone expected that to be the case. Trades being accommodated to the satisfaction of all concerned.
We can go on like this forever which might not be such a bad idea come to think of it, enabling me to make a return for a change while the shares trade flat at 780-840.
Think I'll swerve the c'mon and buy me trap as I'm sure i can pick these up sub 750 shortly.
For a stock with a very limited free float their is an unending supply of stock at current prices which is satisfactory as the sp moves in a very predictable spread. Lots of churning going on which is no good for any investor, seller or buyer unless your quick off the mark.
Don't expect any info from HO their not in the business of keeping investors up to speed.
So if you need a lot of hand holding forget it....set your sights a lot lower when it comes to hearing news of a material nature, you may or may not get any.
Those (2) late trds from Thursday were both buys in case you wondered.
Sydney is significantly higher this morning led by energy & mining amid firmer commodity prices. The benchmark ASX200 is up 44 after earlier hitting 7844. Banks were better ANZ, Westpack & Commonwealth led the financial sector.
Bigest movers were Real Estate Co McGrath (+24%) & Cyan Renewables (O&G) (+10%) both on receipt of takeover offers. The mrkt ended up 45 at 7816 just short of the years high.
In Tokyo stocks moved lower on profit taking snapping a 4 day win streak led by motors, techs and Banks despite the BOJ saying the economy was trending upward. Major exporters bucked the trend after the BOJ left monetary stimulus u/c at -0•1% and downgraded its inflation outlook for 2024.
Overall inflation is expected to be above 2% through this year while the real economic growth forecast was lifted to 1•2%. By the close the 225 had shed 404 points but still outpaces all global mrkts by a considerable margin so far this year.
Elsewhere Pacificas followed Tokyo lower though Hong Kong and Shanghai are modestly better. Hong Kong edged 23 better as a third of companies in the 82 member Hang Seng index will announce earning nos this week.
The Yuan bounced off 4 month lows at 7•202 v the USD after the People's Bank of China set a higher daily ref rate. Investor confidence is turning on hopes the mrkt is over the worst of the property crash and equities see local investor interest returning.

Another overlooked and unloved stock tainted by the Aim disease of "blue sky mining' no hopers....shame as Billington has a lot to recommend it not least it pays a dividend, makes money last 4/5 and might make 60p earnings '24/'25 what's not to like?
One of the better Aim small caps or should that be micro caps? It could pay those not obsessed with RR to take a look. I added a few for my own account as I consider the mrkt cap of under £60m does not price in future prospects by a long chalk.

On Wall stocks moved strongly to the upside in early dealings but gave back ground over the session. The 3 major indexes still closed the session at record closing highs. The Dow finished just short of 40,000 while the Nsdq & 500 posted more modest rises both trending down at the close.
Apple was the main casualty on a day of stock gains after the DOJ sued the iPhone maker alleging it monopolised smartphone markets. Shares down $7 to $171. Goldman, Home Depot and Cat led the risers while Coca Cola, IBM and Apple propped up the losers board.
Meanwhile economic data released yesterday added to investor's bullish moods as Americans filing new claims for benefits unexpectedly fell last week by 2000 to 210,000 while sales of pre-owned houses increased by 9% in Feb the most in a year. Signs the economy is on solid footing. The mrkt continues to defy expectations and investors are loving it.
