Its circular flow economics and its something that epitomises the whole financial ethos of the conservatives - get people to spend money at the expense of the govt., to make more money back for the govt. in the longer term (which is why the treasury is always better under a Cons govt. than a Labour one since Labour/socialist ethos = raise money by raising taxes). Sunak is highly likely to cut tariffs or introduce things (like we've seen with eat out to help out) to get people to spend money and get the economy going.
I am 99% sure that beer tax will be cut and MARS, MAB ect. will prosper as a result of this in the coming year

I am new to IAG and I'm really unsure whether to invest here or in EZY (as their both quite similar in my eyes). Has anyone been in the same boat here, invest in both or just have any advice for me on this? IAG seem to have a lot more ground to recover which means they also have a lot more room for growth I think e.g back to £3-4 levels as the world reopens.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

I was hoping for the same short term, but I'll doubt you'll get that now, think this will just steadily incline now well into next year (there maybe some opportunities to buy in low when the next report is released as I doubt the figures will be good)

Can see a fair bit of profiting taking after these rises, obviously investor sentiment high, but hoping to buy in around the 8.5-9 mark if I can (if and when it drops)

Is £9-10 currently overweight for this SP? Not sure whether to buy in. I mean how much higher can this currently go even if some from of normality does return?

Personally as one of the survivors, with the post vaccine roaring 2020s beckoning, I think MARS and MAB could see highs not seen since the 2000s

The issue is with a lot of the advice / the dominating opinion on here, is that it comes from long term investors who have been here since it was 12p and a fart- so it doesn't matter to them whether this is £3 since they'll still be in profit.

As a recent investor I can sympathise with you, even if you make a big loss now (like I have) I think there's some great opportunities out there for you (and myself) to make those losses back as the world reopens.

Unfortunate for REVS that pubs aren't opening sooner as their cash burn is significant (it was meant to have dried up last month as implied by the report so not sure what's going on), decreased my holding here as this share looks more like a punt than a sensible foresight. CFO is good so that's a bonus.

Personally I bailed here and took a big loss, I think there are better opportunities elsewhere, leisure stocks are about to explode (most have already) and I'm going on a big adventure to make my losses back up there ready for when the world goes wild this summer. Well have to say I was very wrong in my short term prediction, announcement far more promising than expected. Long term prediction still remains the same though- 1.2+ come late spring

Lots of shouts of overvaluation, but remember that ITM have signed big deals recently, shell and Linde aren't going anywhere, all we need is another announcement and this will be back to £6.50- 7

Then again mms always write down SP's on a Monday, staying optimistic and hoping for a gradual rise throughout the week

Starting to feel like a bit of a fool not taking my 10% when this was 6.50. Getting quite worried now that this is a bubble that is bursting, enormity of sells toward today's end. Will this recover??

Ramping aside I am incredibly wary about topping up at these levels in the short term, particularly as pubs will most likely be closed until late Spring and MARS have rejected the offers presented to them. This will go down before it goes up IMO
