I'm really green to this and have only put have a very small amount of cash in shares that i can live without if the worst happens. I am learning as I go...so it's a genuine (albeit naive) question
Is that how it would actually work? if it sold for 40 times higher than the current mkt cap would that actually mean the price per share would be 40 times higher than now? I haven't clue how these things work.
live it large?
IF there is to be a buy out, what do people consider might be a realistic price per share that we could receive? I know it's all hypothetical at this stage and no guarantees of anything...
Thank you that is really informative
Hi, I am new to investing and had little luck so far. I am curious as to people's thoughts on a potential buyout and what that might mean for shareholders - my understanding is a buyout can be good news for shareholders - what do people think could happen here? might CAML (or another company) buy out and would that mean our shares would be bought out for a set price or transferred to that company? I have zero understanding of this so all thoughts really appreciated.
it's as of today that Altair can start trading isn't it? but they have to do it in an orderly way, so it shouldn't have anything to do with them...
not sure my understanding is correct as I'm fairly new here, but that's what I've picked up from reading stuff on here and elsewhere.
Can anyone tell me what it means when a trade shows in grey, like the 5mill one at 11:42 - does that mean it didn't go through. can it also suggest that someone may be trying to buy/sell that amount but hasn't been able to and it might appear later? any clarity will be helpful please. thanks
Hi, I don't often post but am following this chat and hold shares in EQT. The RNS says 'expect to' invoice - so to me that means there is still a possibility it won't happen. the uncertainty could be around whether it will be by the end of June or not, or could be whether it will happen at all, but the use of the phrase 'expect to' does suggest that we need to be cautious here until that comes to fruition.
like everyone else I am down so hoping for good news
What opinions do people have on the tweets coming out from the company? they are positive and yet there is no news, so what might it mean and what message are they trying to convey without actually being able to say anything?
lol, this is actually what I was trying to get at - it's really hard for new people to tell the real posts from the fake ones. I am genuine, and I have few posts because I am literally brand new to investing and only registered on here today as yesterday's activity made me want to learn more and contribute to the discussion - everyone had a handful of posts at one time - and surely only a few posts doesn't make you a ramper or deramper? surely it just means you only get involved on the odd occasion. If every time someone who doesn't post often comes along and suddenly makes a fair few posts saying shouting to 'buy now' or 'sell before it goes down' then fair play to be suspicious, but I don't see what I have said that can justify an accusation of deramping (which i had to google by the way as the terms are all new to me as well!)
I have absolutely no pearls of wisdom so would certainly not be trying to sway anyone one way or the other as I have no idea if my instincts on this stock are right or wrong - it's all new to me. I have a very tiny holding and I am just waiting to see what happens.
As a newbie I have to admit that yesterday's postings got me really excited about EQT, I was already in but I was swept along yesterday and if I was someone who was less cautious than I am, and not inclined to do my own research, I may have been tempted to make some (in hindsight) potentially detrimental decisions off the back of yesterday's postings.
It's a real worry and I think actually makes me extra cautious for future investments. is there nothing than can be done? Clearly people who regularly post here can quite easily identify those kinds of posts - is there a moderator?
