Holding on to this share has cost me big time. I became too transfixed with the financials and forgot about the basics i.e. the quality of service ITV provide. Well, over the Bank Holiday weekend I watched a lot more TV than usual - and from early Friday morning to late the following Monday night, the ITV content was absolute rubbish.
Whilst the latest results were excellent, they should not detract from the fact that ITV appears to be in serious decline and the BOD's proposed strategy to halt this decline is at least ten years too late.
I'm out of this dog of a share.

Agree Ragnar - I am confident that HSS shares will deliver decent growth from here

No 1 - Bad numbers always take longer to add up than good ones do!
What I do know (from personal experience) is that Mr Peterson is a shrewd old bird - and the numbers will add up eventually......
I bought into HSS as soon as I spotted his last Director buy........if he bought at that price then anything around 16p - 18p would be relatively low risk in my view - hopefully!

“Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has today (Friday 11 March) sanctioned 386 members of the Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, for their support for the Ukrainian breakaway regions of Luhansk and Donetsk. The new sanctions will ban those listed from travelling to the UK, accessing assets held within the UK and doing business here.”

However, there was also a Bill being passed by Parliament last night, but I can’t find any details other than the following:
“The bill targets those who hide wealth in the UK, particularly through property purchases. These include those who might be seeking to shelter illicitly acquired money. The bill will reform Companies House in an attempt to verify the identity of every company director and beneficial owner, with the aim of preventing criminals or kleptocrats from hiding behind a UK shell company.”
Not sure if these will have an impact on Poly but would welcome any thoughts.

CR888 / Charles Rixon - give it a rest. Your non stop posts on Darktrace, telling everyone how they would make a fortune become annoying at best, and costly at worst (for those who initially believed your incessant ramping).
Please don't do the same here.
I hope you are proved to be correct about Poly, but as the saying goes, - even a broken clock tells the correct time twice a day.
I thought Poly was great value at 1100 and was about to buy in when the sad events in Ukraine began to unfold. 1100 was too much of a risk, but the 150 on Friday was just too tempting. Yes, there is a real risk of significant downside from hers, but given the potential upside.................. just invest what you can afford to lose.

Nidec - "Approximately 7.7% of existing customers decided not to continue using Darktrace as their cyber-security solution. Given the typical stickiness of this class of technology, that’s a little worrying, especially since this number has grown from 6.9% in 2020." - reported by Motley Fool on Tuesday.
Now, I'm not a big fan of MF so I would be interested in other's thoughts on this statement.

745653 - Agree 100%. One has to wonder if taking it private is the overarching strategy of the dominant shareholder. If this is the case then letting the share price drift further is to the dominant shareholder's advantage - enabling a buyout at a bargain price.
I would be keen to hear other minority shareholders views on this? Hopefully, I am completely wrong on this and the SP revovers to 150p +

I guess driving the current share price even lower would enable the current dominant shareholder to take the company private

Hi TT - yes, Sylvania (SLP). Apologies for the confusion.

Sotolo - agree 100%. Having such a single, dominant shareholder rarely works in the interests of the minor shareholders. Compare the THS shareholder register with that of SYL.

i sold half my THS shares last week and bought into SYL. I hope both perform very wel, but I suspect SYL will perform better because their split of shareholders should ensure better governance which in turn creates confidence for prospective shareholders.

I meant interest from new investors. I agree with the points you make which is why I have stayed invested (THS are by far my largest holding). However, the volumes being traded each day are so small in comparison with other companies of a similar size and there are very few sizeable buys. It is this lack of interest from the market that concerns me. Even the excellent results and updates fail to spark any meaningful interest.

Minecheck - couldn't agree more.
The difference between SLP and THS in terms of the SP spread and volumes being traded is quite telling. There is something not quite right here at THS - the institutional investors clearly have major concerns that overshadow the metrics we smaller investors use to make our judgements.
I will continue to hold - nervously - but I am sorely tempted to cash in and move to SLP.

I appreciate that there have been a number of posts comparing SLP and THS .
However, does anyone have anything to add based on the significant differences in the volumes being traded, the SP spread and relative SP performance of these two companies?

Bangrak - interesting comments but as a long term holder, I am coming to the conclusion that there is something fundamentally wrong with this company. It cant be the financials, cash flow, debt or growth opportunities - but there is clearly something that the market doesn't trust. Could it be the ownership and internal governance? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

It not just inner cities - its every car owner that isn't able to park on a drive - think of all the terraced houses and flats / apartments etc across the country.

Also, at current battery production, it has been calculated that it would take 157 years to produce enough batteries to replace the present number of cars and vans that are on the road.

We must also address buses, lorries and medium to large vans that travel hundreds of miles each day - EV power isn't a feasible solution..........hydrogen is an interesting possibility though.

And, if we were able to go fully EV .......how would the government backfill the billions of pounds lost revenue from petrol and diesel taxes and duties? Put it on electric......and push up heating and lighting costs for millions of pensioners and vulnerable persons?

And so it goes on..........the 2030 deadline is pie in the sky!
