Okydoky
I know who he is (definitely wouldn’t buy a car off him)
I know he was a seed investor
I know he’s not listed on the Argo website as a main shareholder
However what I don’t know is
1) how do we actually know he’s selling apart from seeing large sell positions and assuming it’s him
2) what’s the real impact of him potentially still holding shares?
I think that’s it for now :-)
Natural news? lol
A one stop shop for woonatics and conspiracy theorists.
@growthinvestor20 fantastic link! thanks for that.
What's the true correlation between Argo SP and BTC prices. Not over the last 6 months, but over the last 12-18 months.
I think focussing on the day to day rises and falls doesn't give true perspective.
I would suggest that many short term expectations of this stock are driven emotively rather than evidentially. The previous ATH wasn’t sustained long enough to be a benchmark and was driven by a feeding frenzy of sorts. Correlating the stock directly to BTC also seems fuzzy and let’s remember that Argo isn’t a one trick pony! There’s a constant drive on here and even more so on Stockwits for the stock to go up every day without fail. That’s just not realistic. For me the value of the stock is long term. The big investors will want to see consistent returns not just one month or two months of exceptional returns. Once the reports and accounts show consistent upward progression then I suspect we’ll see significant increases. I believe there are too many uncertainties for a large investor at the moment to drive the price to the numbers people seem to throw about. A case in point being Texas and NASDAQ. We know they’ve purchased the land, but as anyone who’s ever been involved in building anything, the land is often the easiest bit. Nasdaq is also subject entirely to rumour and innuendo not driven by evidence. These two factors alone would potentially put off someone investing large sums. Just so it’s clear, I hold 20,000 shares in this stock and will not sell until I see my exit point which I am hoping is in 2023. Having said all of this. I may be entirely wrong :-)
@jabberba we need to be careful with this, any more green energy/George Soros news and the right wing conspiracy theorists over the pond will start to think Bill Gate's vaccine has managed to infiltrate us all :-)
Careful @chezplastic I said something similar about kids in the back of the car yesterday and some people thought I was being pompous and they didn't understand why I was posting etc.
The share price is what It is, wanting it to go up day after day isn't the same as it actually going up day after day. It'll get there just have some patience.
I've got one prediction right already so I win!
While I was writing this
"Most of us can't predict what BTC will be in 20 minutes let alone this year :-)"
BTC went from $58086 to $59000 in the space of 20 minutes !
I do so enjoy these. Most of us can't predict what BTC will be in 20 minutes let alone this year :-)
I suspect once all NASDAQ is up and running alongside Texas we might see a steady climb toward £6.50 as for BTC, who on earth knows. either $250,000 or $2.50 is my guess or somewhere in between.
Oh dear @poptimist, did I touch a nerve? do you need a nap?
@bullmarket :-), my post was mostly tongue in cheek, but, some people do take themselves really seriously on here. Besides, my kids were fully aware that we were always nearly there, it's just around the corner ;-) not that one, the next one.
Some of the posts on here remind me of my kids when we were going anywhere in the car. Are we nearly there yet? What about now? and now? what about now?
Some of you need to pause the coffee intake and take a breath. Mindfulness is useful for some I understand or maybe have a nap.
I suspect it will do one of three things.
Open at £2.30 close at £2.35
Open at £2.22 close at £2.35
Open at £2.35 close at £9.65
or any combination of those or in-between or near those figures :-)
or
none of those because guessing is fun, but literally not based on any sense of reality whatsoever. The one thing is for absolute certain, is that no matter which way it goes, we will have a large number of people saying hodl (me included), the odd person saying they sold at £3/£2/£2.50 and they're glad they're out and the usual suspect posting under at least three accounts telling us that PW is somehow conning us in some way.
The RNS has done a great job in highlighting the Green credentials of Argo. Whether this will have an immediate impact or not, who knows. However, what is clear from this morning's posts are that some people see this as Argo doing a new thing and others knowing they were already using Hydro (clean energy) which is Quebec's main source of electricity (my birth place :-) ).
If you knew they were green already, that's great. if you didn't (and it's clear some didn't) then that is even better. Let's not assume that all investors know argo relies on clean energy. This RNS is a great way of letting new and future investors know and letting them know we're going to partner with those who use green energy as well.
we have always been a green miner powered by Hydro, agreed. However, the current buzz is about energy consumption and environmental issues caused by bitcoin mining. Standing there and knowing you're green, isn't the same as letting new investors know you're not only green, but partnering with others to make sure more mining is green as well.
Absolutely. I can't get my head around people who don't see green energy as the future. But then, lots of people tried to keep us using Whale Oil as well soooooo
the Stocktwits board will be interesting later on today. There's a healthy smattering of climate change deniers in there, but this is also good business. I suspect this will cause some of them to mentally implode as they get stuck between hating and loving this RNS. Having said all of that, their anti-china bias will probably sway them over. Another great move from PW and Argo.
@WPol I agree with your first sentence.
The excitable moment by moment hype is a little bit like the "We'll be millionaires by Christmas" statement from Del Boy.
I get the rest of your statement although I believe it is slightly pessimistic.
My optimism is long term. A year to two years from now is my focus, not Friday or Monday or 2pm. The constant need for "good news" is both unrealistic and to be frank a tad annoying. It's like kids who want to know what they got for Christmas in August.
We are in uncharted territory, this is not a standard stock (as we should all know) and this is not a standard period in time with uncertainty around covid-19 etc.
Delayed gratification is the order of the day, rather than immediate satisfaction. Breathe in, breathe out and have a cup of tea people. If you cannot wait, then I'd suggest not only this stock, but any potentially volatile stock is not for you.
My Stocktwits app is working, but the website seems to be malfunctioning somehow.
@splatted "Timis is lower than minnesota swamp turds." Oddly specific, geographically accurate and inherently pleasing all at the same time :-) A fine insult indeed!
Oh my god! He’s not your mum. I suspect he’s probably busy, but he still loves you, ok? I worry about the emotional stability of some people here.
