Doc I'm not sure we actually know how many people caught covid-19 in the first wave as there was no testing, we were simply told to self isolate and only call a ambulance if you couldn't breathe.
Just about everyone I know suffered covid/flu like symptoms and fatigue around that time, myself included so I honestly feel herd immunity and the seasonal nature of the virus helped reduce it dramatically throughout summer 2020.
However my point and question was "do we know what percentage of people vaccinated already have covid-19 antibodies?" As surely they must be discarded from vaccine efficiency statistics, as they would drastically and unfairly improve the efficiency data. Would you agree?

Doc my post was about.. how can we ever know true vaccine efficiency numbers when millions of recovered covid-19 sufferers with antibodies are being dosed.
We do know that you are highly unlikely to catch covid-19 twice in a 6 month period "extremely rare" i would guess in the ten's, but do not have figures to hand. So imo it's unjust, dangerous and irresponsible to claim that it's vaccines alone which have reduced numbers, as it's likely herd immunity from the millions who have caught covid-19 this winter/spring and lockdowns are having the biggest impact.

I would be interested to know how many people who received a vaccine have actually had covid-19 in the past 6 months? and therefore have naturally occurring antibodies, as that would almost certainly falsely inflate the vaccine success rate.
I mean this time last year the covid death/infection rate fell right away to next to nothing without vaccines after the 1st wave.. I guess that was due to some form of herd immunity as is the case with all seasonal viruses. Autumn will be the real test for vaccines imo and I doubt the success figures will be anywear near whats being quoted as post infection antibody levels reduce.
