RE: Complaints re Surrey County Council29 Jun 2020 18:33
My mail to SCC,
Good evening,
Please can you advise me of the Legality of todays meeting with ref to UKOGs application to drill for gas/oil at Loxley.
The meeting had several technical issues in the broadcast and some points were missed.
The vote at the end seemed a farce with one councillor asking his wife for advise a d others confused as which was the correct way to vote, for the rejection motion or against and as it was lost by one vote maybe you should think again.
Also all your Legal team advised you this would be overturned on appeal probably with costs awarded to UKOG for the disturbance of bussiness.
If your not going to listen to your paid legal team and planning advisers then you have a problem with your Councillors and would advise a shake up.
This will cost the SCC now up to £200,000 in defending a position that your advisors told you would not stand up on appeal.
A serious look at this matter and Legality of the vote needs to be looked at.
If you can approve similar bussiness ventures in Surrey such as the wedding venture which brings in up to 10,000 vehicles and HGVs why do you object on traffic grounds a much smaller application?
Maybe if your Councillors had to pay for the appeal out of there own pockets and not the tax payers pockets they would heed legal advise.
Rgds,
John R
