You must be a new shareholder, because we have had a lot of discussion on here about the Coop. He is referring to the artisanal miner's cooperative which negotiates on behalf of and protects the interests of the local miners. CNR gradually bought all of the land needed to develop the mine from the Coop and other local landowners. We believe the Coop still owns a tiny area - not enough to stop development, but it is significant nevertheless as it sits right on top of the main vein.

It is a common effect seen when a company makes a large purchase - it's shares often dip down, to recover later as the market digests the news.

No we're not getting much cash - we're getting shares in a company that needs CEY to boost its profits. CEY announced a massive increase in production and sales for the last 2 months and has fixed the wall problem that has held us back for 4 years. In addition, Doropo will pick up the growth when Sukari starts to slow in a few years. This is a complete change in our fortunes and I think that Anglo are getting the bargain of the century. Why was this sale sneaked through before what will clearly be excellent quarterly figures? Surely not because that would have boosted our share price and caused Anglo to have to make a bigger offer? I will vote against the sale at this price.

I can't see mention of Doropo in the announcement, so in addition to a knock-off price for CEY, they get Doropo thrown in for free? Very fishy.

I do not see how this low ball offer is in shareholder's best interests. production is finally taking off and the wall issue is fixed. The sky is the limit, with 200p on the horizon. This offer smacks of chancers from Ashanti desperate to immprove their long term share price with a producing asset off the shelf.

The increased national defence spending has to come from our taxes, whatever you choose to call it. I would personally prefer to see the winter fuel payments re-installed. I abhor the massive public sector pay rises without any attempt to reform the hideous waste of, for example, the failed NHS. In fact, the NHS, the largest employer and the highest cost item on the national budget should be dismantled and privatised as soon as possible. Labour have a great opportunity to do that, as did the Tories in 2019 (another opportunity squandered by them), but they won't as they are too in thrall to the health unions.

It is no consolation, but Reeves, the new Labour chancellor has strongly hinted that she will be increasing non income taxes, such as CGT and Inheritance tax and worse, that pension savings are ripe for a tax raid. I am looking seriously at Portugal as an option to escape this country that is unrecognisable to the place I grew up in.

The lack of interest is odd, but I suspect that the succession of missed deadlines over the years has hardened the market to disbelief until it sees the BFS published.

NoelShempsky - we are all very frustrated and disappointed that the markets do not see the value of the company. Many of us are underwater at these levels. One thing that surprises me is how angry you are that the share price is so low. I well remember your correct prediction earlier this year when (contrary to others on here, including me) you stated strongly that we would see sub 40p. You were very clear on that! Surely you would have sold when you knew the price was going to fall? And you did know. And you were correct. So why keep posting that you are fed up if you already took your own advice and sold? It just doesn't add up.

Agree with Simms below re: warrants - which leave a sour taste for me. Too many shares for the boyos for my liking. i am not a long term holder, only 18 months so far, so a relative newcomer, but already underwater and not intending to hold any money for top ups at any price. i will be out at break even, sadly, as I think the assets look good (I am a geologist), but the execution has looked amateurish. I think the appointment of a CFO and mine engineer are both very positive and overdue, so I have some hope that we are on the up.

How interesting ISA, almost identical to my experience! I now take minimal risk with the Sipp, no input from me to professional. Only have CEY and CNR in my trading account, which is going sideways ATM. My wife, on the other hand is making ridiculous profits in oil and tech and NG. I can't persuade her to put it into CNR, which is probably a good thing. I still expect to have the last laugh.... one day.
