He ramps and ramps and ramps. If anything happens to go his way, he'll boast about it on every board possible so more people listen. When things don't go his way... well, the account is closed so no evidence is left behind and after a few days the process is repeated.

For some reason (hopes for an EU deal?) all of my shares are blue today, this one in particular.

Do we have any clue why? A meeting? Deadline? Do we honestly believe an RNS is inbound before 2021?

They still need the bid to be voted on and approved. If approved, that's us bought out at 35p per share.

They're currently committing many more millions into the deal by buying up everything they can get sub 34p (I wrongfully thought a couple of hours ago it was the Germans who were buying in but I didn't spot the Barclays RNS or the amendment).

At the moment they still have a long way to go to ensure their bid is approved but the more money they commit to this, the lower the risk of the deal falling flat which is good for the remaining investors. In fact, the more of their cash at stake the more motivated they'll be to amend their bid if the deal seems to be at risk.

So the French and Germans are the ones buying up AA shares at 34p.

Let's be realistic, they're not risking millions for a 1p spread.

The offer came in today and will take weeks/months to get anywhere. It's so far from over and I just don't see it going (too far) down for a while. Although the vast majority of people seem to be jumping ship I find the situation too interesting to sell up just yet. PIs are flapping and leaving left and right, so who's immediately soaking up anything at 34p and keeping the SP flat?

I think someone with very deep pockets either sees value in this stock so will probably be willing to purchase up to just under 35p, or they simply need to own as much as possible, which could push it up past it's future 35p value.

Or the deal falls through and it crashes to 15p, or a new bidder comes out of nowhere and pushes it up to 50.. no one really has a clue, but it'll be interesting to see!

I think you're misunderstanding that jed. It's stating Platinum Equity can still participate in an offer for AA, within 6 months providing the following is met: then it lists 4 conditions, one of which is "following the announcement of a firm intention to make an offer for AA by a third party".

These aren't reasons Plat is out, just ways they can get back in.

I really hope you're right! I sold on Friday due to Mondays very predictable dip, however it never quite went low enough for me to get back in.

But I can see this being hovered up at its current price. So, let's go.
