Well - the overhype continues. I’ll enjoy the ride in the meantime.

I’m another of the old cogger brigade but perhaps a younger version. It’s interesting through 30 years of experience how investing aims shift. I certainly went for growth in my late twenties , thirties and forties knowing I had time to build the portfolio but having now taken early retirement, the likes of Lgen, national grid and Lloyds form some nice additional income within the ISA wrap.I’m less concerned about spectacular growth these days. At the end of the day you do your own research in finding the next growth and income stocks. One lesson I have learned. I think I’m better than some fund managers that I have used. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I think the space x flotation is overhyped. Until I see how this translates into firm orders for Filtronic , I’m keeping my feet firmly grounded. This will continue to go up and down like a fiddlers elbow. A joy for traders. I’m long term in as the product potential is great but it definitely needs a diverse customer base. That’s the bit I am looking out for.

This reminds me of when it was hanging around the 200 to 220 mark for quite a while. I suspect 350 / 360 is the new baseline until there is decisive news. It is very much a traders market at the moment. Still solid for longer term investors IMHO

If nothing else. This share provides some entertainment or fraying nerves depending on what side of the fence you are on. Let’s see what next week provides. I’ve given up guessing.

I know debt reduction is a key priority for Dave Lewis to get down. He’s got a pretty good track record. Patience is the key particularly if you are a long term holder in my view.

This is all noise. I’m just focusing on the fundamentals in terms of the oil price and divestment program. At the end of the day it is Meg O’Neill who will lead on success of failure. She has a great reputation so I am going to sit back wait for the end of year results and take it from there. I think you will find that we will not be disappointed. Famous last words 😂😂

There is a right and wrong way to lead people. If that was your son, daughter, husband or wife and they were being bullied , threatened etc etc . That is absolutely unacceptable. Performance improvement in any business environment is driven by positive engagement, a clear strategy and a solid performance management approach.

They may have a technological monopoly now but as Musk has proved; continual innovation and anticipating the next growth market is key. Hopefully the Filtronic Board will be two steps ahead of everyone else and they have strong security protocols of their products and ideas. As we all know there corporate thieves everywhere.

I think it’s a fair point about the IPO. How many have been overhyped and then fall over. From me it’s about orders. Price rises can’t continue purely on speculation; sooner or later a big player will make a move if nothing happens and the house will fall down. Having said that I think this is the start of something big.

Let’s hope the new PM gets rid of Milliband. Linda read the room pretty quickly and said sod this, no money to be made here. Clearly we have an individual ( Milliband ) who doesn’t understand the concept of energy security and transition. Interesting that BP are also looking to farm down the Carbon Capture project; a ringing endorsement of Government policy not !!

I find the arrogance of Labour MPs breathtaking. So you have the left wanting Andy Burnham who isn’t even an MP but someone is happy to give up a safe seat so that he can be an MP. Hello - do the local electorate have a say? It would be so funny if another party won the seat. By the way I have no allegiance to any political party never have; however I have over many years been searching for a party and PM that is financially competent, has a moral compass and be an inspiring communicator. I’m still looking. How does this affect Lloyds or any other company? If you do not support businesses and help growth then all those public services that people want, good pensions will disappear because we will be bankrupt.

The growth in the share price really reflects the opportunity and people’s FOMO. Does anyone know if there are other companies similar to FTC which can provide the same services ?

I bet Mr Nunn is loving the fact that those buy backs are primarily sub. £1. That’s another 1.7 billion + out of circulation if all goes well. I do have a concern that a windfall tax will arrive at some point. Even Farage is keen for that bearing in mind he has a grudge against banks. Didn’t some American investment banker suggest that the UK is uninvestable? I’ll remain calm and wait for all this to play out. Dividend increases are what I am looking for. The buybacks will at least make it less expensive to fund that annual 15% increase. He hopes🤔🤔.

Evening guys, new to this board. I’m one of those still deep underwater through Premier Oil. Thank God my other investments are better. This perhaps is the most frustrating stock in the market. I’m pinning my hopes on Linda’s stance that expansion and further mergers are off the table. Time to consolidate, take advantage of current oil prices and buy the BASF stock. If that doesn’t move this; I’m not sure what will.

Anyone heard about this new political movement just recently set up. I want a party who have economic competence and know which levers to pull to drive growth and not bankrupt the country. Banks like Lloyds can play their part but if they get screwed around; the bond markets will make sure the Government pays.
