It works as follows.

Institutions know most private investors have no patience.

They dump a load of shares on the market which they borrow.

They dictate the price and therefore the price does not run away.

Private investors panick, get frustrated and bored and sell. Institutions soak up all the cheaper shares.

Simple.

@wolf . The only reason the aquis exchange exists is because of the level of shorting that goes on on the aim market. Legal and illegal. Corporate , private and brokers. Top to bottom. Riddled with it. And yes it's the private investors who get screwed and the companies that need finance but can't because their market cap has been suffocated to nothing.
And now the aquis exchange is taking more and more business from aim. Good luck to them!
