Nathan, we love you mate, but as per Mr L you seem such a twat.
Well done Mr L for standing your ground against some newby numpties. It goes without saying you are the lse equivalent of Peter Hambro and we've been through some interesting times over the years.
What we are currently witnessing is for me the most perplexing of them all. Will POG really sell its assets? Granted they've defaulted but surely this is just a technicality given the sanctions. At a time when everything at POG is going just fine and here we are with talk of an imminent shareholder wipeout.....it just doesn't sit with me.
I reflect and recall back to the dark covid days and we were all told to stay at home and the markets duly tanked. Point is that good companies, even with their doors being shut, were able to ride things out no thanks mainly to government grants and furlough etc. So POGs machines continue to be well oiled and operationally we are going great and yet here we are, 'POGs about to go bust' and we are all seemingly about to be nailed to the cross (apologies for the Easter pun). Surely there's a way of navigating the sanctions, deferring obligations and waiting for better times ahead? Basically where there's a will there has got to be a way. My worry though is where there is no will, and this may seemingly apply to the bod given the recent RNS, so maybe they've already got the nails out for us shareholders.
Being a betting guy I'm of the belief things will pan out just fine. Its Easter Sunday tomorrow and for me POG looks destined to rise from the dead, glorious and immortal.
It will certainly be an interesting few weeks ahead.
Hey Mr L did you know I have copyright protection with 'Another week down the pan' within this forum? 'Another day down the pan' is pushing things slightly close imo. Hey ho I only came on here to fire a quote from Putin today - already been mentioned on here - but worth reiterating.
'Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday the country has no plans to nationalize foreign assets in response to seizures of Russian property abroad. “Unlike Western countries, we will respect property rights,” he said.'
We always knew he was a good guy, not like the scallywags running Pog currently but time will tell if they give a flock. Once normalcy returns will Pog flourish or should we all be waiting to be paid our dividends in Bitcoin? Good old Pavel said dividends would return in 2022. That was some three years ago and look at what has happened since, including to Pav himself. Is he still locked up? At least Russia has plenty of gas to keep him warm in his cell in deepest Siberia. God bless all.
Not wishing to align myself with Putin but does anyone else understand why he would be a little ****ed off with potential Ukraine NATO membership and a EU/US missile defence system along the russian border? My red line is not going into Kyiv and EU/US retaliation - god forbid. Keep stoking the Russian bear and sooner or later he fights back.
Yeah Rusty this is a long running stance you have taken against Hambro. You may be right but I don't know the substance to your reckoning. Hambro took part fully in the 5p RI. We know that - because he told us. The bet on the gold price and losing his shares - I assume you are referring to activity many years pre RI. A lot of goblydegook imo but you are entitled to your own. Hambro's negotiations back in 2014 was the best he could get for all shareholders so we were not diluted which, although crap, is still fair. However, what's going on with POG nowadays, pre invasion, leaves me with little trust with the BOD. That said there's a little bit of me that thinks things were being run unscrupulously back in the day and that IF the company is being run for the benefit of all shareholders nowadays, and the Russian tanks reverse back into Russia, we could be sitting on none other than a chunky pot of you know what.
It will resonate with some, I'm sure. Compared to most other twaddle on here I'd give myself 8/10 ;-)
Never went to 2p. Some bright spark on here once said it was a recalibration of the graphs. Makes sense to me.
You couldn't make this up. Maybe a period of reflection and a timely poetic tribute to our saviour, Peter Hambro.
The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea-green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five-pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
"O lovely Pussy! O Pussy, my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!"
Pussy said to the Owl, "You elegant fowl!
How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?"
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-Tree grows
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose,
His nose,
His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.
"Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?" Said the Piggy, "I will."
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
The moon,
The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.
Stay strong all.
Stay on target Mr L , stay on target. This will shake itself out and enjoy the plus 40p fruits when they arrive.
Lies and Excuses hey? I know I've not been around for donkeys years but thought I'd pop in to say 'Hi'. The waters in my tailings dam says we're at a pivotal moment here in pogland. I need to catch up with the latest shenanigans so just a quick hello to all long termers who bought in at 5p during the RI. May the force be with you! Anyone seen Obi-Wan-Kenobi recently? :-)
A few years back I'd have bet my right testicle that CABS and Slevin were P&P in disguise. They both owned 4.55% of shares too. As we know CABS was renamed to Everest, who, hey presto, were the front runners in the sham that occurred yesterday. Here's a snippet regarding the shananigans that went on back in 2018, just to refresh ones memory. https://www.londonstockexchange.com/news-article/POG/response-to-letter-from-cabs-and-slevin/13681492?lang=en
I also worry this forensic investigation may turn up some real stinkers as we all know trasparency has not exactly been at the forefront when it comes to informing shareholders. As much as POG is undoubtedly well positioned looking ahead, the fact that we are rolling back the clock and focusing on the refinancing of IRC sends shivers down my spine quite frankly. What happened has happened, let's move on not look back. FYI I voted not to do a forensic investigation - only harm will come out out it I'm sure. As rusty says, time will tell.
That quote will go down in history for me Mr L. Gosh what a hoot. I'm a tad nervous too with these shenanigans. Time will tell, as per usual.
Well SP currently stands at 38.40p. At this rate we'll be up 58% on the day so closing price will be 49.45. I've been wrong before but well done all long termers.
Open for discussion
Wow CofE. I had a bit more respect of you but are we really asking for one to expose oneself in public? The quantity of individual's shares is irrelevant, our mutual understanding and onward progression in somewhat more valuable. Each to their own I guess. Good luck!
I think the most sensible comment today was from CofE regarding this being a game to acquire equity. Most of the posts today are nonsense from newbies, we all knew the day would come when they came back to the forum. So, Mr L, where are we today? Assuming you haven't sold a bean you're a five time multiplier against the RI so congratulations with that. I don't need to say the obvious but there will always be downs on the way up and you've done the tricky bit so stay focused towards the end of 2020 and we'll be in a different place and what has happened today will just be a blip on the chart. It hurts yes, but that it what it is designed to do in so much as we'll 'struggle' around this mark for the next several months in the hope that the weak PI's will sell up once we retrace our steps back to 35p. So no harm has been done today in reality, you'll just need to use the concept of time to push ahead once more. Don't think this'll be the last of it either, expect some environmental disaster, fine, corporate negligence etc but just continue to sit and chill and time will take you through to where you want to be. That's my opinion anyway. As always, trust no one. I've always loved Peter Hambro anyway.
I think you'll find anyone who bought in during the RI and has stayed in, or partially stayed in, made the correct judgement when compared against those who bought in recently. I am not one of those individuals updown but I have lots of respect for those who had the endurance and patience.
Curimo....welcome....though you're about five years too late. The hierarchy here is well established so newcomers are appreciated but the Rights Issue guys rule the roost here. Good luck, whichever way you are batting.
Shed, it is easy for things to get misconstrued on here. My words to Mr L some time ago was to trust no one, the same still applies today. Do you remember the days of observingman? God rest his soul. CofE, do you recall the little blighter?
Interesting statement Shed. Care to elaborate?
