The bench merging has been trialled and has been found to not be as productive as originally thought. I'm not sure, but I think it's been put on the back burner.
E bikes are currently in trials I believe. But once again it's gone quiet on that front.

As for stocking? I can't see it happening any time soon. And as for PUDO, BG will no longer be using RMG from March this year. I assume it's a national thing.
Are they going to Asda and using lockers?

Definitely not a trader, just made a few quid, literally, on RMG. I was a bit gutted for myself when it went over 250p recently after selling in the high teens. But good luck to all who made.
Long term? The scope is definitely there with the network in place. I just don't understand what is going to happen with the separated parcels. I've spoken to several managers and they don't know either. Unless, of course, it's a secret.
One thing that is certain, is that parcels over a certain size will not be coming through delivery offices in the future. IMO only.
DO's are no longer fit for purpose because of the sheer bulk that comes through door. The space is no longer there. See my earlier post.
So large parcels get removed. More time for letter and small parcel deliveries, equals bigger round.
Oddly enough, that's how it was prior to CDV's.
And the most efficient way of delivering letters and small parcels was on a bike.
Just my opinion.

Bigger items give the illusion of higher volume because more space is taken up. Say for example 25% higher.
Visually worse, but numbers wise, not so.

Surely that would've been question number 1?

And when I spoke about bulk, I was referring to size, not volumes.
For example 100 microwaves and 100 pushchairs would appear to be a much bigger workload than 4 Yorks of packets with 75 items in each.

More importantly for me though is how you fully accept wolvesposty volume increase for his office, but not mine.
Why would that be pod? Please do not forget that I actually stated that tracked items were up 7% in my office.
I assume that the increase sits comfortably with you?

JBT. DerekR in his earlier post stated that IN YOUR OPINION letters would be down, normal parcels would be down but tracked would be up. I'm not sure if that is correct, haven't checked. But if you did post this, isn't it exactly what I posted yesterday?

If I had said figures for the 4 weeks prior to xmas in my office were up 50% on last years numbers, I would've been treated like a god. No questions asked!
And as for the count: Exactly the same as MC's.
I'm sure you've heard of ACF's.
Nothings changed.
And when I say rough calculation, it was actually quite detailed.
This may not be indicative of the country as a whole, but more than someone saying " parcels are up. "

I see no reason why my "guessed" figures are any less believable than anybody elses.

These figures are for my office and relate to the 4 weeks prior to Xmas both in 2018 and 2019. Not post September.
I put together a rough calculation in both years and compared them. In my own time.
These are my figures only. Take them as you see fit, but enough of the thinly veiled threats.
It's odd how the posters who claimed that parcels were through the roof, claiming between 15% and 25% increases in volume were not made aware that ""he would be getting a knock on the door from the fsa and his employer thereafter.""

My figures may not be exact but at least they're not just plucked out of thin air.

Lets see who's right when RMG speak about the Christmas period.

This is due very soon and I believe that there are going to be some very disappointed holders here.

2018-2019 comparison with 2019-2020, 4 weeks prior to Xmas:
Letters and flats down 10%
Parcels/packets of all kinds down circa 9%
Parcels/packets (tracked only) up circa 7%
Parcel/packets (all others-not tracked) down circa 12%

How this equates into a successful period, compared to last year, that many on here are posting about, God only knows.
The visual appearance in delivery offices is often misleading. Bulk over quantity doesn't pay the bills.
Mr Back has already alluded to the fact that RMG may not make any profit the next financial year. I'd be more worried about this year.

I'm glad I sold my main holding and will look to buy back in after the trading update if the price drops to sub 200p. Obviously i'll be using my small profits as well as my divi payments. All are sitting in my tax free ISA.
Still holding my 81 freebies though as well as my matching shares.

I think you should focus on accumulated. No time span given but if you look at the recent historical price you might have an idea when I've bought. As I stated the """"last tranche"""" was bought at 195p. Investment closer to 11K than 12K. And I sold on Friday. Still holding my 81 freebies though and any matching shares that I've "accumulated".
And regarding overtime: You do both realise that you don't have to work over your daily finish time for overtime? You only have to work over your hours.
Please get your facts right!

Fruitster. How's that fantastic bonus plan shaping up? Do you still think it's workable? Or have you realised how stupid it was?

Excellent news. I've been buying heavily recently.
Last tranche at 195p. I've now accumulated nearly 6000 at an average of 198p.
And the best thing is that they were paid for by overtime. Since the news IA was going to be a factor in RMG I've been doing plenty of o/t.
Just trying to shore up the IA fund.
And what better way than buying shares on the cheap, reaping the divis and then selling.
The thing that makes me really happy though, is my overtime (and many of my workmates) has been funded by shareholders.

And for the record, I am my postman. And after all the issues recently I didn't take or deliver my mail. It was done by somebody else. So yes, I failed my own mail.

Regarding the stamps and bonus, well tell RMG to take them away if that's what they are for. You are clearly wrong on this one!

And I did finish on my time, and I did cut off. Are you suggesting that I have to work over my time? You have no idea what I do after my finish time at RMG.
And why should I return my free stamps and xmas bonus? Are they issued to staff who go over only? Besides I don't see the anti CWU brigade giving up their pay rises, pensions, shorter working weeks etc. Now that is hypocrisy!

One other thing, copied from your post: ******...been in today on week off to help out..******. I've been working for RMG for 30 years and I've never known any annual leave granted in December. Are you sure you're on week off as you suggest?
