My old man got me into it, said to me buy shares in the Falklands they will get oil. He's gone now but when he was alive used to tell people he owns an oil well lol. He always said RKH would come up again. Never sell it he used to say. Glad I didn't my average ended up over £1:10. Now it's about 50p. I lost a lot in desire tho, was more heavily invested there. Still, I have a nice holding in rkh, when it hits £2, my losses in fogl and des will be history.

I was holding before 2010 and saw the price go above 500p. It's taken a while, and only after averaging down and keeping in the bottom drawer I'm now in profit. I had faith. Finally things are looking up.

Doesn't it depend on when your broker buys on the day, like on the day the price goes up as the multiple dividend reinvestments pushes the price up. I'm trying to decide wether to cancel my drip or leave it

Aclay47, thanks. But....not profit yet. I have bought dogs and lost a lot in the past. But I always had faith in rolls. I had bought it in the past when it was around 700p for the dividends and I like the company and sold for a small profit. Had RKH in the falklands invested a lot and gave up and held they are coming up again now just about breaking even with them.

I invested 40k at a around 100p...not a 10 bagger but maybe a 9 or more if I get out at the right time. I'm happy to hold. As for knowing another that's for the birds. But....at a pound rolls was the best opportunity I could see

OK, so never done a tax return. I'll get one and fill it in on Monday when I sell all my shares, but can i include one namely Argos resourses as a loss as it was delisted on 26-9-23. Or is that another form I have to fill. What's it called.... Neglegable value... Actually it's worth nothing... it's on another exchange now... Thanks.

To be clear, I want to sell all my holdings on Monday, I'll pay the tax due regardless of the 6k threshold. I'll then asume I have time to later declare my losses. I want rid of the other shares

Thankyou guys......no Isa, just opened one. Hoping to catch this tax year and next for Isa and the allowance from this year. Don't need the money, just want rolls and more profit from rolls..... And although I know taxes are one of the three, birth death and taxes , depending on how you look at it, I don't want to pay lol... Who does? Paid my fair Share over the years but when I'm up I feel like I'm being robbed.

Thanks Mr cat.... Currently my rolls is 75000 profit and my losses are showing 35000 loss. If I sold all on Monday, I'd have 40000 profit. Then would I and could I report, I've never done a tax return. Would I have to report the same day to offset or could it be left for later. I see as I've not done a tax return before I should send details in the post so can I still 'claim' the losses against the profit even thought it's after the sale date. Thankyou

So what is the process of offsetting losses against gains. At the moment there is 6000 aea but not for long. I want to sell and offset my losses on shares I currently hold, can I sell all my rolls and all my losing shares in the same day to realise an overall profit, offset then take profit and rebuy into an isa. I know I have to report the losses but can I report them on the same day. Thanks

I've used my father's dealing account to buy shares because he only gets a state pension so would pay less cgt if I (he) made a profit. I've used it to buy other shares which are making a big loss now I'm (he) is actually in profit, thanks to rolls, do I and can I sell the loss making shares, then rolls for profit, then report the losses and pay less cgt or is there an order which I must follow. I would then transfer the money to my account and buy rolls back. I do this because he hasn't long to go and I don't want the iht burden too. Thanks to all holders.
